Got me a Pole this week :D now lets see how he races!
On a hunch , I took him out and put Gordon in. May seem stupid but I had two poles last month and both crashed early. Good luck Flash.

I have JJ as a back up, you know old safe and steady. Butt Damit I heard a clip from Tony the other day and he's pretty darn adamant that He Will Be The Points Leader After the Reset.....besides I like his style at Atlanta!
Drop the Hammer and Let Her Eat Smoke!!!

I need a WINNER before the reset :D

I have 6 starts left for Johnson and believe that Atlanta is a good place to start using them although the RFR Fords will be strong. I'm also concerned about the reliability of the HMS engine but willing to gamble :D

You live on the edge.....they only have 12 wins this season:D

It's the DNF's that concern me...how many of those, I wonder? They're harder to figure out than the wins.

I can think of a handful or so off the top of my head that actually resulted in a DNF. Michigan certainly took it's toll on HMS engines.

Valve springs from an outside supplier is the standard excuse when an engine fails to cover for the engine shop. A valve spring doesn't explain all the water coming out of JJ's pipes, especialy after just 1 lap. JJ had plenty of power, then said the motor was laying down and boom, instant steam engine. They probably tried something new and blew a head gasket.

Of course it is o great one, I just didnt want to type that much. ;)

Danica out qualifies Jr 23 to 35
The way they qualify sucks ass. Formula one style is twtg. Everybody gets a chance during cloud cover. I hate it when a guy gets a good spot because he got a stray cloud to grip up the track.

That's just how it is. Can't have 47 cars out there qualifying.

I like how they were doing it in trucks for a while. 3 or 4 trucks out there at the same time, so cloud changes weren't as much of an impact.

I am hoping Kyle gets the wild card. But Gordon has a great opportunity, he ran very well in the September 2011 races at Atlanta and Richmond. I was thinking Bristol would be Kyle's best shot and it didn't happen.

The 3rd round practice times are pretty interesting, some of these guys have really good up front speeds but if you look at the later times for their run they really fall off. Look at those guys a lil farther down the chart Harvick, JJ and Biffle.

The drop off from qualifying is Amazing!!!

Gustafson told Speed that the 24 is very good. He usually doesn't say things like that.

He's been consistently fast all weekend and qualified good. Think if they can keep up with the track and maintain track position he has a chance to defend his win from last year here.

Yes. When they are mediocre or struggling Gustafson says very little. For him to come right out and make a statement regarding speed probably means the car is as good as the speed charts indicate which obviously isn't always the case.

OMG...I just got the most hilarious visual from that...I can't stop laughing :)

Can you imagine the good ole NASCAR boys trying to keep track!

"That car is fast"

"Which car"

"What?"

"Which?"

"That one.....no the other one"

Gordon may have a fast car, but we all know that the fastest car wont always win you the race as you've also gotta have luck on your side. Those guys outside of the top 10 with 1 win (Plus Edwards) will all be fighting like crazy, because they know that with a 2nd win, they will almost certainly be in the chase.

75 percent chance of rain tonight for Hampton, GA. 7pm and 8pm.

Hampton Ga probability of precipitation.

4pm to 8 pm 50%
8pm to 11pm 40%
Forecast as of 4pm.

Starting at 9pm, there really isn't a chance of rain at all. It all depends on how hard it rains before then as to whether or not we will race tonight. I'm sure they think everyone has off work tomorrow, so chances are that they aren't worried about running this race super late.

See freakin above.

See freakin above.

"See freakin above", says the person who also posted about weather after someone else did. What's your deal?

It seems like every time I post something, you feel the need to get mad about it. Did I do something to you in the past??

Here in Atlanta today we've had intermittent sun then light showers (it's rained twice - but nothing heavy). We are in what I call the "Florida weather pattern" this time of year. Lotsa pop up storms in the afternoon/early evening.

I remember once at my son's Little League game at Douglasville it rained so hard we had water thigh deep in the dugout in like five minutes - I had to fish around in the muddy water to check for equipment. Then I got in the car and drove 3 miles and everything was bone dry.

Hopefully we will dodge the bullet tonight ;).

Got my "Fat Tires" on ice .
