Blaney-Harvick Conversation

Surprisingly, no. Still thought he raced like a total plonker.
He raced nothing short of any short track racer does.

He didnt pull a Danica, Denny, or Kyle Busch and blatantly wipe out another driver.

Denny drove Ryan straight into the inside wall on the front stretch on the final lap.

Im not sure of your definition of driving too aggressive.

Harvick was doing what he always does. Driving like an ass, trying to intimidate and bully a younger driver.

Probably still salty about Blaney out wheeling him for the win at Pocono with older tires.

I love Ryan Blaney. He’s one of my guys when Junior is done. He’s a badass and he doesn’t take crap. I love seeing him and Chase standing up to the older guard. Rivalries are good for the sport.

DRIVERS ARE SO BLAND and BORING!

<driver shows personality, emotion etc>
HE'S SUCH A JERK/IMMATURE/MAMBY!!!

That is what has always made me laugh as one week people are bitching about someone being vanilla and the next they are whining about someone not being a perfect little robot. People are mad at Hamlin because they don't like him and don't like that Chase Elliott was taken out. It is the same thing with people carping on Kyle Busch about getting into JLo as if Elliott had taken out Hamlin or JLo had got into Kyle these would be non stories. IMO it is really shallow thinking as the people involved should not make any difference.

I defended Austin Cindric because he did what he had to do to win. Hamlin just couldn't pull off the winning part, which makes him look more dirty then the move really was IMO. Now if Hamlin won the race, some would say he won it dirty and then move on. Instead, the outcome was that he gained literally nothing from wrecking Elliott and then went on to wreck half the field which is where I feel the difference lies to some people.

The racing and post race between these two gets two thumbs up from me. Raced side by side, beating and banging but kept it clean and didn't take each other out. Get Martinsville a third date Brian.

Yeah, no. I go to short tracks every week. When someone drives like he did, they get taken out.

You're saying it's fine that Blaney drove like he did because he didn't wreck anyone. That's like saying it's okay if someone shoots someone else as long as they don't kill them.

Harvick was doing what he always does. Driving like an ass, trying to intimidate and bully a younger driver.

LOL. If Harvick was being an ass, he would've taken Blaney out when Blaney slammed the brakes on him.

I am literally amazed reading your comments.
I watched Harvick attempt to intimidate, attempt to move and attempt to put the splitter to Blaneys LR. So when Blaney body checks Harvick on the straight he is wrong??
Come on man.
WWKD???
I honestly was rooting for the brake check about 10 laps before it happened! Kevin had it coming.
It's not dirty racing to stand up for yourself!
I don't know what short track you go to watch at but that's not the short track racing that I know. If somebody's wearing out my back bumper and I just pull over to let them go I'm never going to win!!!
( see Mark Martin championship numbers)

So when Harvick races aggressive, it's bullying and intimidation. WHen Blaney does it, he's a wheelman or he's standing up for himself.

If Harvick wanted to, he could've put Blaney right in the wall the same way Hamlin did Elliott. But he didn't. 15 years ago, Blaney would've been taken clean out by Harvick for that.

Nobody's saying Blaney should've pulled over, but a brake check is dirty racing, period. If someone's faster than you and you can't fend them off much longer, so you brake check them, that's dirty driving. And if you do that at your local short track, you go through the wall.

And again, I like Blaney. He just hasn't exhibited his best driving at Martinsville.

Mark Martin won the 1990 NASCAR Winston Cup Series championship.

This forum has taught me something this week.

Chase Elliott and Ryan Blaney are the most popular drivers in NASCAR, and can do no wrong.

This has absolutely nothing to do with Ryan Blaney standing up to Kevin Harvick!
Even when Harvick gave him a jab in the ribs Blaney gave him a shot to the right shoulder!
Harvick probably should find somebody else to lean on from here on out.

Goalposts.

You're moving them.

You based that opinion, on the whole NASCAR fan base, off of a forum of maybe 50 active members.

Please.

What has Chase Elliott done wrong? Depending on the kind of wrong you're referring to, you'd be nitpicking to try and find something.

You nailed the most popular part though. Going forward anyways.

Harvick cannot win any sort of confrontation with the youngster .... and he knows it. If Harvick roughs him up on the track he will be the loser, if he roughs him up in the pits he will be the loser. The young fellow has rendered the bully inert :lol2:
I hope Blaney rides him like a stolen horse from here on out

King Hyperbole as always lol.

You actually have it backwards. Harvick was more justified for wrecking Blaney for the brake check. The chicken **** before that was just Harvick being Harvick. Trying to rough up Blaney just because he can.

I’m not giving Blaney a free pass. I’d have dumped him too if he brake checked me. But Harvick does this **** all the time. Tries to be a bully. Until somebody stands up to him. Then he goes away.

LOL so this was okay?

You need to do a better job of noticing context.

Last lap, last turn, going for first win, making a move to pass and ending up getting together and wrecking vs 3 laps to go, not making a move to pass but lifting the rear tires up for 300+ feet intentionally wrecking.

LOL so this was okay?

Nope. Like I said, depending on the type of wrong you're referring to...

The fact that we have to venture back into the archives to when the kid was 17 years old and part time in the little league truck series to find some serious offense is what's LOL worthy. My God. How is that at all relevant to what he's doing at 22 in the highest level of NASCAR? Has he driven like that since?

I'll help you answer that - Naw.

“Chase Elliott isnt aggressive enough to win”

*is aggressive*

“NO NOT LIKE THAT”

Blaney drove like a tool on Sunday. Between the wheel-banging down the frontstretch and the brake check on the exit of turn 2 he's lucky he didn't cut down a tire, damage the suspension, or just get dumped. Not much big-picture thinking there.

So it's okay for Chase Elliott to dump a guy, but not for him to be dumped?

Naaaa.
Did Harvick touch him again after the break check?
The big picture was finishing the race without the idiot in the number 4 car taking him out! It seems to me that he was quite successful in that endeavor

I hope that is true....so much! The punk will get punked...love it.

Eventually Harvick will probably lose it and punch or wreck one of the little kids. Harv is a bully at heart ...... most of the drivers avoid a confrontation with him and give him a wide berth on the track. Watching Blaney mess with him was hilarious

So it's okay for Chase Elliott to dump a guy, but not for him to be dumped?
Show me where Chase ever dumped a racer how he was dumped Sunday night?

You are spouting a false equivalence while comparing the Chase/Ty incident to Denny/Chase.

There is no way you are so dim as to equate what what Chase did to Brad

Who said anything about Chase moving Brad??????

So Chase dumped a guy and now it's fine because it wasn't as egregious?????

Y'all have moved the goalposts so many times in this thread.

You are talking about Chase. This thread is about Blaney and Harvick.
That is moving the goalposts.
