BLUE JEANS GO GREEN 200 PRESENTED BY COTTON, THE FABRIC OF OUR LIVES

Reading through this thread you'd think Kyle is single handedly responsible for ruining the NW series. It's funny considering the 4 other Cup drivers that finished behind him.

Is it that Kyle is running Cup equipment and the other Cup guys are running cars they built in their backyard?

Its hilarious how folks forget the other cup drivers, its even more hilarious watching Kyle spank their little bottoms

...Johnson wins because he can run on the ragged edge lap after lap...
I respectively gotta disagree here. IMO, Jimmie can't drive unless the car is damn near perfect (which Chad makes sure it is.) If Jimmie gets sideways he usually hits the inside or outside wall. Jimmie isn't very good at saving a car once it's sideways.
Stewart, Biffle, Busch...now those are some guys that can drive a loose racecar.

Kyle was awesome today Kyle18. He isn't as happy with the Cup car. Denny isn't good either. He is talking about changing everything for tomorrow. Green track, unproven set up......could be interesting.

He was awesome as always Rev !!! The JGR cup cars not so much  might be a rough day comin up

It doesn't bother me seeing Kyle or anyone else dominate a race.

There's still good racing going on behind the leader. I mean it's not like they're just showing a shot of the leader running around all by himself the whole race. When he's leading like that they're mostly showing the racing that's going on behind him, so I don't understand why Kyle or anyone dominating the race would make someone not watch it.

To each his (or her) own, I guess.

That's why the best races are the ones that you attend. There's so much more going on that what the network allows you to see.
TV or radio does not let you witness the strategies that you experience with a head set.

Lots of folks watching at the track today, lots of em are Kyle haters but they bought tickets cause they love Nascar, just like me. Kyle puts on quite a show, his passing skills are remarkable. I never tire of watching him drive. Its a crying shame that they cant put a better cup car under him IMO

I'm tired of them too. I will excuse Larson because he has single-digit Cup starts and has driven stock for about two years.

On the other hand, no one competes as much as Kyle. He's running 26 Nationwide races this year, next most is about 18 for Kenseth. He runs almost half the Truck races; no one else besides Keselowski and rarely Logano even touch that series.

JGR only has one full-time regular too.

Unreal. He's run for the two best Cup organizations his entire career.

I'm not saying Kyle is or isn't racing too much in the lower series'. It's not a factor for me when deciding to watch a race.

I like racing, so if there is a race on I'm going to watch it if I can, no matter who is stinking up the show.

JGR might ought to find a better Nationwide regular, they got good cars and should be winning a championship every year. Kyle gave Gibbs a championship, others should too IMO
Gibbs deserves it and so does Toyota.

I'm happy for you that Kyle dominated the race and you were there to see it. Lots of fans go to races for years and never get to see their favorite driver win in person.

I feel very lucky that I was at the races to seen my favorite driver win five times.

Good luck to Kyle tomorrow and I hope you get to see him win again.

Not really. I hope Gordon wins

.

Haha, sorry if it's offensive but uhh. It's a dick.

As much as dislike all the Cup guys dominating this series most of the time, the car count would of been even less if they weren't in it. Only 39 cars started the race, take out the 10 or 12 Cup guys and that leaves less that 30 cars.

So putting other people in the cars was out of the question? I guess that's not a choice anymore. Oh well.

What is key to JJ being a dominant driver in Cup is the fact he can communicate so well with Chad about how the car is handling or not handling. Chad is able to fix the car by the end of the race to make it very competitive if it is crap at the begining. So, for the most part JJ doesn't have to ride on the ragged edge, but granted he is not Kyle when it comes to trying to save a loose race car, I think Kyle is the best at that.

Well why do think that not all the Cup funded NW teams choose not to use devlopment drivers? My guess it is all about sponsorship money, sponsors want their cars up at front in the TV limelite, usually having a Cup regular in the car will pretty much guarantee they will get good TV exposure. I'd like to see more developmental drivers, but it isn't going to happen. There were only 39 cars starting the race today, I can't remember if last year there were any NW races where the car counts were under 40, maybe there were. Lets face it the underfunded NW teams can't compete with the Cup funded teams. Unless the rules are changed this will continue and I'm not sure if changing the rules will be a good thing for NW. I have mixed feelings about this, but with sponsorship money so critical I don't see much changing.

Agreed. Nobody can save a straight sideways car like Kyle. I only saw one in-car replay that showed his hands and the sound of the motor when he mashed the gas, steered and settled the car out of the spin at Daytona. It was pretty amazing.
Jimmie chose to simply lock the car down and skid into the inside wall.

I'm thinking NASCAR and the broadcasters need to play up the "Us against Them" aspect of NNW races. Folks like pulling for the underdog. Give more focus to underfunded teams so people will be interested in that battle for 20th position. Play up the Cup guys as the villains. Give the fans a reason to root for the NW guys.

I know the folks on here don't need all this stuff pointed out to them, but it could work with casual fans.(If their are any left).

Pfffft
Jimmie makes the car look like it's perfect even when he's loose as ****. Its the drivers that can't handle a loose race car that get sideways and drift up the track that aren't winning race after race. You look cool when you drift out of a turn & save it but you loose speed when your tires are sliding. Jimmie knows how to work the throttle to get the most speed. When JJ does spin out, he either has help or the car just completely gets away from him finally after doing all he could to keep it straight the entire race.

C'mon now bud, that's a lie. I wish I could agree with you but I just cant.

Two of the most recent saves that come to mind from Jimmie.

Watch that end on that first video. He should have wrecked half a dozen times at least.

When Jimmie spins out you know the car is beyond saving.

There was another race last year was it? Where he wrecked the car and he manhandled that thing into a top 15 finish. A wrecked car.

I hope Denny tries that bonsai move he pulled at the end of the race last year with JJ and Kez and ends up in the wall. I doubt anyone else will give up 2 car lengths to help him out.

Nationwide isn't developmental anymore. That's what K&N Pro series is for.

I agree , I don't know why folks keep bringing that up . It's better called a 'companion series' . As far as watching underdog drivers , I wonder how many 'true fans' on here were pullin for Jeffrey Earnhardt ?

Interesting. I always felt JJ can wheel a car when he needs to, but he rarely needs to. He's a control driver with a top team and CC, so pushing a car beyond it's limits doesn't happen often. I agree he isn't able to push as hard and for as long as some others, but I've seen him make some great saves.

I think his big weakness is point racing from behind. That's when he tends to make mental mistakes.

We have the same argument every time KyBu wins the lower series - EVERY TIME. The best way to show displeasure with it is to stop watching and if enough people do the same, the series will then change or die.

I started to post a montage of kybu's wrecks where he should have saved it but soon realized after a little research that all of the video's of him losing a sure save would take up too much bandwidth and get me in trouble with fury. :D

A few years ago Jeff said he couldn't drive with JJ's setup because it was way too loose for his liking.
They've always said loose is fast.

My favorite is where he ran way up on Montoya and turned himself into the wall. When he got out of the car, he explained that Juan caused the wreck because he doesn't understand how these cars work. :XXROFL:

Gordon has always like his car more in the tight side
