78 crew for sure. Hamlins was a racing deal. If he pulled off that move he probably wins the race

I can't blame Hamlin, he was going for it and didn't hit anyone. Just racing hard.

More like 78 shop crew. It was the head of a bolt on a bracket keeping the brake rotor in contact w/ the wheel hub that broke and jammed in the wheelwell. Ere go, someone at the shop didn't buy up to spec bolts.
 
Hamlin and Nascar for having a system that allows drivers to do anything after they have a win. That boy needs a trip to the wood shed.

Honorable mention to the 1 team for altering their quarter panel on a pit stop, in clear view of the officials, and costing McMurray 3 laps on a penalty.
 
I had no problem with what Hamlin did. It's funny, if that move had worked, or it was done by one of the precious rf drivers, it would have been hailed as the move of the race. I guess Hamlin shouldn't have pressed the issue and stuck in line...that always makes for good racing.

Yes. Racing is very expensive.

The Honest Charley grade 3 bolts turned out to be a mistake.

Not if it was Brad making the move between Matt and Hamlin. People would be crying foul all over the place.

Except a lug nut bouncing under a wheel is not really a mistake by the pit crew, its just an unfortunate random occurrence IMO

I can agree with that however the tire carrier should feel something if he can't put the wheel on flat.

What's this I hear it wasn't a lug nut but a broken bolt??

Talking heads said it was a lug nut and showed the mark behind the wheel, that was the last I heard about it.

I can't find fault with Hamlin nor would I with any driver that made the same move. Hamlin was not being reckless but just racing to advance his position and how was he to know what would ensue? If he had run out of talent and over drove the car it would be one thing but the whole mess was just an unfortunate circumstance.

Put 'em in 1974 Laguna's and that problem will not occur.
 
Truex and the 78 team are expert marksmen when it comes to shooting themselves in the foot. Maybe it will all come together for them at MIS and they will take the checkers but currently and in the past they have left a lot on the table.
 
Hamlin was going for the win. He did exactly what I praise Kez for doing. I didn't see enough of the race to see a bonehead.

Imo his move woulda been more accepted with less than 5 to go. But there was what, 20 or so to go?
