Bowl Bash 2013-2014

1st & 30 and they still couldn't stop them from scoring. Alabama's secondary is just getting torched.

Anything's possible. I remember a few years ago when Utah not only beat, but dominated Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. I know this is a completely different team, but still anything is possible. Michigan State and UCF weren't supposed to win yesterday either.
Ahem...

Only one thing to say....FOLLLLLDDDD TIDE!

Looking at some of the SEC Schedules from this year, and outside of playing each other, the SEC schools didn't play very good competition this year. Alabama's big out-of-conference game this year was Virginia Tech. Auburn's was Washington State. Texas A&M's was Rice. LSU's was TCU. Missouri's was Indiana. Georgia's was Clemson, who they lost to.

They haven't been overly impressive in the Bowl games either. Texas A&M had to rally to beat Duke, Alabama got manhandled by Oklahoma, Nebraska beat Georgia, LSU almost lost to an unranked Iowa team. I think some of the overrated-ness of the SEC is starting to surface.

Winning the last seven BCSNC's is not being overrated.

The SEC's biggest competion is within the SEC. Georgia got beat playing a QB that started his first game all year. A&M won, doesn't matter if they had to rally or not. Duke is a great team this year. LSU won. Bama played like crap, had sorry play calling, and as much as I hate to talk about refs, had several missed calls that would have helped. But its over and done and nothing can be done about it.Even Jimmie Johnson had a bad race every so often. Auburn is playing for the SEC's eighth straight NC.

Watching the Under Armour game on ESPN, they showed the top 10 recruiting classes.....I think seven of the top 10 teams are from the SEC.

The SEC will be here for a while to come. They will miss a NC sooner or later and the masses will rejoice and laugh, trying to cover up the memory that the SEC has owned college football for years.

Can't deny what they've done the last few years, just saying that this year I don't think the SEC is the end all be all of college football. They've definitely shown some vulnerabilities.

As far as OOC competition goes, the SEC has the best record overall, against FBS teams, majors, and 10-win teams. They also have the second-best record against 7-win teams and bowl teams. The only conference that comes close overall is the PAC-12. And despite a few losses the last couple of days they still have the second-best bowl record behind the mighty Sun Belt.

Nothing would make me happier to see SEC teams play Oregon, UCLA, USC, OSU, ect.....hopefully with the new playoff system, we will.
Slive should have ditched a couple of the umpteen bowl games against the Big Ten and Almost Competitive Conference and matched up with the PAC-12 for a change.

The SEC is still elite. Alabama played like crap yesterday. Look at Clemson, they're in a BCS bowl game but when they played South Carolina, an "average" at best SEC team, they got their asses kicked.

They did beat Georgia, although they're probably an "average" SEC team as well.

Heard a lot of 'Bama fans say today that they didn't win last night because they weren't in the Nat. Champ. Game and therefore weren't interested. As an OSU fan, can I use that excuse too if the Buckeyes lose tonight?

Bama didn't win because of poor play calling, unable to make adjustments in the secondary, and a QB ( who I still say I one of the best in the country) who was running scared the entire second half due to an out of shape offensive line.

Clemson fans must all be the same idiot Carolina Panthers fans that only just started watching football four weeks ago. I've already turned off Facebook and Twitter for the night.

I would like to have seen and heard what the little turd did to set her off like that, he kept egging her on knowing his Bro's would keep her at bay.

They were messing with her 9 year old kid....

Yep.

On Friday afternoon, Connolly told Sports Illustrated's Extra Mustard culture blog the woman was sitting in an adjoining Alabama section and the two groups of fans were exchanging taunts back and forth until Oklahoma pulled away in the first half."So once we started winning, they shut their mouths and my crew of 6-10 people just started talking a lottttt of s—, specifically me and my friend who you can see waving the towel in the background of the video," Connolly wrote on Extra Mustard.
"At one point she went up to get a beer, and was kind of talking s— to us when she got back. She just kept flicking us off and stuff during the game. A few times, my friend yelled in the direction of her group of ‘Bama fans, 'I yell Roll Tide when I eff my cousin,' but since she was the only one standing it seemed like it was directed only at her."Connolly said the woman came down to his row and the taped encounter began after he and his friends engaged with the woman's teenage son, with both parties threatening to fight each other.

"I can't wait for the GoDaddy.com Bowl between Arkansas St. and Ball St.!", said no one ever.

Michigan State really did everyone a solid by knocking Ohio State out of the NCG. Good Lord.

Yeah, it totally should have been Alabama......oh...wait.... ;)

If Clemson does go on to win, that'll be 4-0 for the underdogs in the BCS games.

If you can't deal with people talking ****, don't go to the game. When I go to the Jacksonville/Washington game next year, I know damn well they'll be talking ****. And if Jacksonville wins, they'll probably start fights like they always do at Landover.

I don't go to a game to talk *****, especially with my kids. That's why I will never take my boys to a Redskin game while they are young. I've been to several Redskin games and the fans are dicks. I went to a Dallas game back in the late 90's and got into a fight. This was after other Redskin fans was telling the jerk to settle down...When they play Philly, its even worse.

I'm all for having fun and talking a little smack. But people push things too far and when you bring someone's kid into the ****-talking, you should expect the taste knocking out of your mouth.

Redskins fans are among the worst.
