Bowman to the 48.

i like when jr lost the 8 ,he chose the 88 so his fans could just add a 8. pretty cool of him
That was a courtesy for the tatoo'd fans. It was decided that that adding an 8 beside the existing 8 was the easiest and best solution for the hired tattoo artist.
That kind of concern an interest in his fans is what made him so popular.

Also benefitted the back hair shavers.

You’re wrong on the second point. Joonyer’s popularity is attributable entirely to his Boxer dog, Killer.

Now that Jimmie is about to run his last NASCAR race before opening up a new chapter in his life in Indy car it will be exciting to see how he does moving forward. He was an awesome champion for NASCAR on the track and for so many others off the track. He will definitely be missed here. That being said I don't think they could have hand picked a better replacement for Jimmie then Alex Bowman. The more I watch Alex I realize his characteristics are a lot like Jimmies in so many ways. I'm really excited and looking forward to watching both of them chase their dreams in 2021. Good luck JJ and AB and may the 48 win many more championships.

Larson is his replacement, technically.the 88 is being rebranded. Larson is going to the 48/Jimmie's car, just renumbered.

Hope Larson can give Cliff some wins. Cliff has the right attitude, and seems to be able to set up a car.

He struggles to keep up with the track, and I believe there were only 4 or so races this year where the 48 got better....but he's a winner mentality, he's confident, and he's a hell of a leader. Putting that car in victory lane, while great for Larson, will do Cliff a lot of good.

I realize that but the number is what will still be tied to Jimmie for a few years anyway. I think a lot of his fans will still follow his number for a while unless the car just bombs and I don't think that is going to happen. But some will jump to another team.

Saw this story going thru college football news feeds and was going to post it here. Terrible tragedy.

Well I can relate. I had two weimariners that thought it was a good idea to sleep in the bed with me in it.

You must be a Ryan Newman fan then.

I like Ryan. I was never a real fan of his as far as racing, but he is a fellow Hoosier and and I respect what he has done on and off the track. Had he started his Cup career in GM products, I probably would have been more of a fan. I was really happy for him when he won the Brickyard and stayed for the victory ceremonies, which we didn't do for EVERY driver.

We LOVE weimariners, but were cautioned that they might be a little to energetic and rambunctious for us, so over the years we have had five retired greyhounds, three rescued lurchers and last winter we got a rescued galgo, which is a Spanish greyhound. He even came with his own passport.

wow I had three greyhounds myself, I got Buster and Ruby first and after they passed I had Wookie. She named herself because she could make sounds like the Wookie on Star Wars.

Cool. Our current pair of dogs are the greyhound Rico Suave (Rock-it to us), and Simon, the galgo.

For years we we used our local greyhound adaption group's dogsitting network to look after our dogs when we had to be away so they wouldn't have to be boarded in a kennel. Currently, we have our friends' college age daughter come stay at our house when we are out of town.
