Brickyard 400 thread

The guys on the radio (who happen to be the Indy 500 radio team rather than MRN or PRN) said that as soon as the PA announcer mentioned another competition yellow, the entire stands around him erupted in a chorus of boos.

Tell you what, if I was there, I'd seriously ask for my money back.

now that i think about this isnt the first major tire problem at indy. i remember a few years ago tires would explode after 20 laps. i also remember an F1 race where most the cars pulled out of the race because of tire condition.

so, if i understood HELton right, we can run bristol tires at indy, since pocono is the common point? :sarcasm:

tony's interview in laymens: "i'm saving my thoughts for post race and my radio show"

"tires are worth gold" classic

This is pathetic. Teams that have already had some bad luck this year and were finally making some progress getting back into the top 12 are going to be affected by this terrible Indy weekend.

Kasey Kahne says he knows why there isn't rubber on the track... it's in the car with him. He's covered in rubber bits

My wife even commented that she sat down 30 minutes ago and has only seen like 2 laps of racing.

I still say I'd ask for my money back.

The commercials are as maddening as the cautions

Goodyear and NASCAR's statements were weak.

"The track" doesn't have enough rubber buildup.

"This track has always been hard on tires."

I don't remember seeing blown tires every 5-10 laps in the Indy 500.

Competition caution lap 138.

Looking forward to another good long 11 laps of hard racing. :sarcasm:
