Brickyard 400 thread

I'm still not blaming Goodyear. There is something strange about this combination of track, car, and rubber. This "dusting" problem hasn't been seen anywhere that I can remember.

And if you look at the tires, the wear is in the center of the tires.

NASCAR or Goodyear owes something to the fans for forcing us to stomach this pathetic, crappy-ass race.
I propose free seats at the next NASCAR event near you :beerbang:

Agreed to a point. I mean Darlington used to be famous for wearing out tires, but never this bad.

Clearly. The wear in the center is only on the right rear because of the junk COT that refuses to go around the corner...

I'm thinking it's the track with those grooves. Everyone has been blaming the tires, NASCAR or the cars, so I'll add the track and we can make it everyone.

So how much griping do you suppose we'll hear from the drivers? I bet not much, not after the "shut up and drive" warning from a few weeks ago...

i agree. the levigation, plus a heavier bigger car, plus an under estimation of conditions, plus a lack of preparation by nascar and goodyear.

stewart will have a fun post race plus his radio show. wind tunnel will be entertaining. jgo might speak his mind.

SOMEONE needs to step up and accept the blame for the fiasco that the race fans have had stomped down their necks today.

Go Elliott Sadler! :beerbang::beerbang::beerbang:

Let's get a Virginian to Indianapolis 500 victory.

I am glad that NASCAR has "erred on the side of caution" with the frequent competition yellows. We have had very few accidents due to tires and considering the potential, I think the 10-15 lap sprints were the best possible call.
I'd be most upset if I were Kennseth or others on the Chase bubble and had this race damage to my points

Johnsen leads.

Sorenson should be penalized for that - looks like 11 crewman got hurt.

I find it very hard to believe that Good Year could not bring a tire that would not last more than 10-12 laps, utterly pathetic. Some major issies need to be addressed after this race, or should i say lack of race. I can't remember ever watching a race this bad, i mean come on, Good Year missing the tire this bad?! This is ridiculous, it does not bode well for Good Year or Nascar, glad i did not waste all afternoon watching this, just turned it on with 40 to go.

Looks like it'll be JJ. And I said it would be interesting...looks like i was wrong.

Jimmie Johnson wins the Goodyear Tire Blowout 400 at the Brickyard.
