Broken Cable

With that said, I am dreading the next time something 'weird' happens because, yes, red flag repairs were allowed in a points-paying race. Pandora's box: opened. Still feel like it was a fair call.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it . The only door they opened was for the next time a loose camera wire takes out half a dozen cars and a dozen race fans. Rest easy my friend , rest easy.

I wish I shared your optimism.

I am definitely not stressing, if something like that happened again I'm pretty sure my head would explode anyway haha

That was one scary a$$ video in post #55. Oh, what could have been. I really don't know the extent of those that were injured and only know that they've been treated/released per numerous articles. FOX/NASCAR have gotten off lucky with this one. Sure, there will be lawsuits to follow. It's only natural for many of those fans to cash in on this opportunity.

For me that view from the suspended cam is nothing more than a source of aggravation whether it's NASCAR or the NFL as I'm a fan of the traditional view from the stationary cameras. If they get rid of it I know I'm more than fine with that move. I could really care less seeing the action from that angle. Show more of the actual passing rather than a flying camera view. I know they're going fast already. It racing.

That NFL shot where the moving camera flies in over the huddle does nothing for me either , I 'd rather see the receivers running their routes from a high stationary camera . Same thing in Nascar , give me some shots of racing back in the pack , any day .

Probably already been posted in this or the other suspended camera thread. I am too lazy to look but here's another example of why that type of camera is not needed.

There's not really a need to worry should they nix the FOX flying camera view. I found some exclusive video of a new camera mount that they've been working on behind the scenes in GBR. They have a couple kinks to work out but word is that they're hoping to have it ready for the second Pocono race to use along the 5/8 mile front stretch.

I think the bloomin thing they used for Nascar went 80MPH. Glad it wasn't going that fast when the rope broke.

I remember when they first used cameras in the cars and on the pit crew. They kept trying new places to place a camera. I think they put one on Digger's head. While some of the views were interesting you can only show a tire changer hit the lugs so many times before it isn't interesting anymore. Cameras on/in the car is still interesting. Flying cameras, interesting for now but bang for the buck - I don't know.
