Bruton live..

KevinHarvick says Bruton Smith planned to talk with drivers at Texas about Bristol & what to do. But that meeting never came off.

Harvick not impressed with BMS: "Obviously, it didn't seem like Bruton wanted anybody's opinion who drives the car, so he went to Darrell"

"When was the last time Darell drove at Bristol?''

There's your drama ..right there . Go Happy .

I have a feeling that there will be many comments on this today as the drivers are interviewed this morning.

DW will surely yap about it on Saturday. Harvick sucks at the new track, so I can see why he's butt hurt about not going back to what it was.

I'm happy. I hope the wreck meisters are happy so we can move on and race.

I think it's a riot . The guy is funny .Wouldn't it be great if all the others jumped on the bandwagon .

Hey DW kicked butt at Bristol......oh wait that was when it was asphalt in the 80's! When did W quit driving anyway mid 90's?

JeffGordon, on Bristol remodel: 'i respect that he's being proactive...but it's not the track.'

'it's not as much about the racing as it is about hotel prices and the economy'

I was talking about when he actually last RACED, I know he went out and rode around some later on.

Remember all the fanfare and hype about his last truck race at Martinsville and he didn't even qualify? I believe it was soon after that he made some remarks about Stewart and Stewart in turn called him a has-been on national television.

They all hang around a couple of years too long . Money's too good not to .Who was the last guy who quit while he was still good ?

But do you remember that? Waltrip said said some **** in the booth about the way Stewart races and Stewart said what he was thinking as well. Man, I miss the days before he became a dipomat :D

I lost all respect for DW when he made a mockery of ALL Past Champions by using the "Champions Provisional" the way he did it was sad.

Handsome Harry the sheet rock guy. Boy he could go on a tear and win a bunch of Busch races anytime.Nice guy .

I don't know that there's any like him left. Kahne, maybe, will probably go down in Nascar history as a nice guy.

Yeah, maybe, but fans will remember that little tickle and slap fight with Gordon.
Yeah ,but that was mostly Gordon and they made up before they got back to the pits. The one I remember is when Gordon dumped him for the win on the last lap at a short track.(Martinsville ? maybe) He was really ticked off.

For all the agruing, fighingt and pissing on one another we do, I think that one of things we're missing these days is people like that. Guys wih some attitude and personality like the Burton Bros. Don't get me wrong, Kulwicki was a nice guy and in control of himself but no one really ever ticked him off enough to see exactly what would happen ;)

That is what I say to anyone who will listen. Love to hate the Busch brothers , the Jimmy Spencers , the Tony Stewarts , the Brad Keselowskis ,the Carl Edwards ..etc. ..they bring the drama . Look at the threads after a race , who is everybody riled up at , they are the guys that make it fun to watch . They are the guys who most remind us of Senior , DW , Petty ,and Allison. That's what is wrong IMO, with Jimmy Johnson, like Kulwicki , all he does is win .

Just saw my invoice for my 2013 Bristol Motor Speedway camping spots. $50 increase for next year for the spring and then again for the fall race weekends. I guess Bruton didn't get that state aid he was looking for so he's asking me for a little help?

You've got to be kidding me. WTF are they thinking?

Like most millionaires , the man is out of touch with reality . What the heck has everyone been talking about , the cost of attending races , and this is what he comes up with ?

August 89, I believe was his last Bristol Win.

True Story it was my honeymoon night during that race. After she went to sleep I turned on ESPN or something and caught the highlights. She made a threat earlier on that it had not better be a race night.

So I waited until she went to sleep to get the highlights.

Well, I haven't received my invoice for the tickets yet. I'm sure those prices were reduced to compensate, right?

Just saw this.....

SMI reports ticket revenue down 8.5% for Jan-March (Vegas & Bristol). Net loss of $146,000 but will make that up w/more events during year.

That's a bunch of hooey. He's really thinking that changing the track is going to be soooooo good that people will forget about the increase?

And again, I know I'm in the minority on this but..... Not only am I helping pay for this most recent configuration change, it's a change that I didn't want to see happen. I paying for a change that fans probably still can't/won't come out to see anyhow.

I would be very tempted to call and tell them to cancel unless they waive the $50 increase. Tell them you are looking into going to an ISC track instead. :)
That may work. If they want to retain fans they may just give in to that small demand.

What are the 2012 camping prices?
I stay in one of their places named The Landing. Their prices are $125 for a 20x50 space in 2013. No hookups. That is one of the tracks cheaper campgrounds. The more expensive ones owned by the track that they do list the prices on are $860 for the season, (both races). They have even more expensive sites but you have to call for those.

Sorry, I just read that you said 2012. I paid $75 per site this past year. They were listed @ $99.

Called Loudon in March to renew for the fall. Got my usual camping spot for half price($50.00)and we usually get three seats for the 2 of us.They offered us another seat for $16.00, so I grabbed it. We are not large people, but the people around us are, so now we can have a little more room this fall. All in all, we made out prety good this time around.
Half off camping, 4 seats for the price of three, and, hopfully, HOT PASSES for the weekend...
