BUILDER RELIABILITY

A 35K spec engine in ARCA sounds dumb. Who would run them 1,500 miles? How much
hp will they have left?

Nobody from the TRD stable purchases engines. Raced and back to Costa Mesa they go. Respecting your post pudge, but I am unaware of any team that purchases their motors unless you are one of the smaller builders--TRIAD, ProMotor, etc. In those cases, I believe you get the obligatory block and heads without support, etc.
i have seen motors that were leased, and also was showed a couple of motors that were also bought from HMS. if i remember right, the bought motors were for the plate races. and yes it was a 1 car team, but they did get support from HMS. i even asked about leasing and buying, and was told it was up to them which they wanted. now the support, i have no clue.

those "bought" motors....were from jj's sandbag racecars ! ha!
poor dyno #'s !

Revman, can you fill us in on what happened to Kyle at Pocono?

Seems very early in the race to have a failure, was it an experimental engine?

After the 18 blew up at pocono dennys spotter said they were 90 percent sure kb missed a shift

Interesting tid bit

Interesting. Thanks.

I have this peculiar idea that a more absolute set of metrics would first determine which engine has proven to deliver more wins and championships.

If an engine can't provide a resonable opportunity to win, it is a failure, DNF or not.

^Hmm, how to interpret that?

Heard it live. Denny asked "what happenned to the 18" and the reply was "we're 90 percent sure kyle missed a shift on the restart."
