No idea. He didn't give an exact reason but I'm assuming liability issues or something since he's a factory driver. Dale mentioned it on either the episode when they had Jordan on, or one of the ones leading up to it a couple years back.

@Revman tagging you since you both replied the same lol
Just checked, it's at the 1:11:50 mark, takes them 4 or 5 mins to get thru the whole story.

Not only is Jordan Taylor a badass wheelman, he’s in the best car in the series on road courses for the last 4 or 5 years. He has a good chance of a top 5 finish.

The F1 boys look lost while he’s out there turning in some heaters. I expected more from Raikkonen especially in qualifying. Trackhouse won the race last year and were fast at every road course. Tell me again how F1 drivers are so much better than everyone else.

Kimi and Jenson are also past their prime in their 40s and have mostly been out of racing for a while. To go to an extremely different car at that point in their career is a huge adjustment. I don’t think it should be held against them.

We’ve seen guys like Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon try sports cars within the past six or seven years and it didn’t go too hot either. It takes a lot to jump into a new specialty and be quick right away.

The lack of experience in stock cars usually can't make up for the additional experience on road courses.
Jordan is an exception but the cars he's been driving are much closer to Cup cars than what Kimi and Jenson have been driving.

The reduced amount of practice isn't helpful for ringers either.

I mention his age only to indicate if he hasn't been actively looking for a Cup ride by age 31, he may not be interested. I agree he'd stand a good chance.
What 31 is the magic age or something, like Cinderella's slipper? A decent ride in Cup is no comparison to IMSA on any level money wise.

Interesting that with the departure of KB, Interstate spreads the support around.
They were already doing that last year when he was there. I know they did at least one race on the #19 and didn't they do one #20 as well?
