Well spit, don't that just take the cake. What a joke.

Moving on indeed. Again I've had my full of it. I've told a lot of folks what a great board this is (which I won't be doing any more btw) and now to be throttled because somebody thinks there is nothing more to be said in a thread that has garnered more replies in the last 30 days than over 250 others.

I don't like it and once again I wonder if Paul ever really sold the board.

Have a great day and enjoy your little corner of the world.

If I ran this board, you'd see a lot of closed or removed threads. Why you ask? Multiple threads covering the same topic. (Especially on race day.)

Anyway, see yaa! Enjoy your "little corner of the world." Gonna be smaller now.

I'm not one to see threads closed either, but in the overall scheme of things, ya gotta admit, the thread was getting a bit testy. And the moderators do have a job to do.

And besides, what more was there to say on the subject??? Everything that anyone wanted to say had been said. Over and over and over and over and over and over, again and again. I offered an opinion, it was discussed, several times and I rested my case. Continuing to discuss what had already been said was becoming pointless, bypassing the original question, and reduced to the question of whether or not Jimmy Spencer has a tail or is a Neanderthal ???

However, if someone thinks those topics about Jimmy Spencer might make good discussion, post it. Or don't post it, whatever.

From me to whoever is interested, this is a good website and well run forum.
Cheers to the moderators. Youse guys get called out for trying to keep things friendly and respectable.

Eventually, some of us get tired of changing channels and find a place where we are comfortable. Something all us do at some time in our lives. Others remain restless and are never dsatisfied. Guess it is up to each one of us to land where we are the most content.

I'm still waiting for the legal precedent on your felony uttering harmful threats statement. When mods start attacking the poster and taking cheap shots at their posts and locking down threads because someone has the nerve to post a differing opinion it's not a well run forum. When people can post out-right lies and not be called on it it's not a well run forum. When mods yell at posters it's because they have a different opinion it's not a well run forum. I said once I wasn't going to post here anymore but was encouraged to continue but I'm not going to waste my time anymore. So all you thug loving, excuse making, narrow minded people will be happy. This place seems to thrive on pompous, windy posts following by a ceremonial backslapping. I first started posting here after the Spencer assault, there was a poll asking whether Kurt Busch deserved it, without going back and checking, my last recollection was that 52% thought he did. I couldn't believe the people here were that stupid. I was wrong. You know who you are.

Without any personal "attack" at all meant Brand X Guy, you are not waiting on any such thing. Not a legal precedent, not 'proof' for your point. Nothing. Thats your first point of error. You are tossing down a gauntlet in reality, man. Trying to drag the arguments from that other thread over to this one.

'Mods start attacking the poster'? An attack is getting hit from behind with a Falstaff beer bottle, getting sucker punched while sitting in a race car. It wasn't an 'attack ' that happened to you: It was a well deserved calling down. You can trust me on this one. I have had no less than about 5 reprimands since becoming a member here. Quoted. Threads locked. 'Censored',etc. The difference between you and I is I never pretended I was ABOVE being reprimanded. Apparently some do.

'Out-right' lies? Code word for differing opinion? YOU seem to want to be the thought police, dude. Of course, little doubt YOU could be a much better moderator, right? Yeah. Until anyone posted an opinion opposite of yours. See the hypocrasy yet?

And 'Yell'? You honestly feel you have been yelled at? Really? Or maybe you feel someone else has been 'yelled' at? And you are the protector of these poor mistreated posters? Noble of you. Robin Hood X Guy.

And last: you don't think it's a well run forum. We are all to be deprived of your much needed wisdom and your ability to teach us all to think for ourselves? Hoss---you sound so much like the pompous jack-ass crusader I used to be it's hilarious that you made your last few statements. They aren't lost on me,man. If you would have only have taken the time to get to know a few of the folks on here you might have found you weren't quite as smart as you imagine yourself to be.

And take it from a guy that knows first hand: You aren't. I agreed almost to the letter with every opinion you ever stated on the Busch/Spencer thing. But your refusal to admit others have a different opinion from us makes you the very thing you profess to dislike: narrow minded.

Thats all I have to say to all the first amendment crusaders.

See you. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Whoa, narrow minded, pretty powerful statement. Is there some sort of religious enlightenment that we are in need of?

How you can post the first two paragraphs which support each other as agruments is beyond me.

To post in all caps is considered yelling. Really. It has happened, and I'm not talking privately. Really

I readily admit that others have a different opinion, what do you think this is all about? My main point all along is that because someone upsets someone doesn't give them the right to assault that person. I'm narrow minded because I don't think this is appropriate? OK.

Don't let the door hit me? Wow! That's a good one! Hope you weren't up all night thinking that one up.

I didn't mean everyone in this forum. As I stated, they know who they are.

What the hell is going on? I've been gone for 2 days and all hell breaks loose?

It might be proper to address BrandXGuy calling someone a liar, first. It is apparently in response to mentioning a "death threat" being a felony. Making a death threat is a crime in three states that I checked. It is a felony if prosecuted under state law. The statutes basically read the same; (SIC) making an utterance, writing or making of a death threat in any manner is a felony crime. It becomes a federal crime (although I did not ascertain of what degree) when a death threat is made interstate or using the U.S. Mail. It is the law and there are cases on record for anyone willing to take the time to look them up. Something BrandXGuy should have checked on first.

I take exception to BrandXGuy for telling moderator Majestyx she took a "cheap shot" at him. Majestyx was correcting 71Fan's misconception that I made a statement, when BrandXGuy had actually made the statement. If Majestyx hadn't made 71Fan aware of the error, I would have. Not as a "cheap shot" or personal affront, but as a correction.

After reviewing the posts I do not think any moderator was yelling at anyone. What seemed to be taking place were individuals looking to sway a discussion away from the majority and into thier favor through repetition of arguments and they, along with everyone else involved, were getting testy in the process. IOW, the process of civil debate was rapidly deteriorating.

Thus the moderators took an active role. My thought at that point was everyone should have just plain "sucked it up".

Since BrandXGuy feels it is necessary to lash out and express personal feelings, engage in name-calling and false accusations plus expressing his opinion in a negative manner about people and past events in which he played a more than active role, I offer this suggestion.

If you want to take your pants off in public, make sure you have on clean underwear. Unless your intent is to show the world your azz. Which, in my opinion, you have done here.

I don't agree about closing threads, unless it starts getting real nasty or hateful. So what that they were posting about an old subject, yea it might of got a little heated but they was'nt threatining each other, no insults, cussin, but I guess it's your world we're just squirrels tryin to get some nuts.

It would be nice to hear from mods and/or admins regarding this topic.

Alright folks, I'm here. What seems to be the problem? I was the one who closed the thread. Why did I do it? The subject had been exhausted, and there were some folks getting a little testy. I didn't want it to get out of hand, so I closed it.

Brand X Guy, what seems to be the problem/ If you'd like to PM me, I'll be happy to discuss it with you. If anyone else has issues, please let me know. I answer my PM's as soon as I see I have one. I cruise the forum 3 - 4 times a day to see what new and interesting things are being said. For the most part, things are fine. On the rare occasions when I think things are out of hand or have the potential to get out of hand, I will act.

I'm not going to close this thread. I'm going to wait and see how this plays out. I'm betting that this will go the way of most threads, other more pressing topics will take presidence and this one will go to page 2.

The mods are mods for a reason.

Trolls like BrandXguy (or Beedie or whatever he is going by now) are going to show up looking for trouble and will not stop until they find it. Some people are not happy unless there is something to gripe about.

71fan...I can honestly say I have enjoyed your contributions to this forum and hope you can get over whatever it is that has you all bent out of shape. If not, that is obviously your choice.

I have on occasion allowed myself to be angered by trolls like BSGuy, but it really isn't worth it. I hope everyone can lighten up and have fun

C'mon guys, we can all do better than this!! I can admit I havent been the best-behaved member of the forum, matter a fact I'm close to being the most ill-tempered however we cant lose our civility in this case. I can admit I have had some bad blood and sometimes good conversations with Brand X Guy, but just because he's expressing his opinions doesnt mean he should be reprimanded however if or when he crosses the line then action should be taken and I'll admit my opinion of him has changed over time and I admit, I came onto the forum in a similar manner and I'm thankful over time I've been accepted. In this case, my crystal ball cannot determine what will happen in the future I ask you guys to use your best judgment on the matter. If it comes down to personal attacks then yes something should be done, right now I see some things that BXG has done to merit that like calling certain members "narrow-minded" while other things I dont.

As for 71fan, you are a great member of the forum and it will be sad to see you go. But it's your decision which dictates the outcome of this, I cant change it, the mods cant change it all comes down to your judgment. I fear there might be more dissent from the forum from more registered members if something isnt done, I nearly left the forum a few months back but hopefully things will change as time progresses and I hope they will.

I've been the former administrator of a forum myself and I'm thankful that in it's short but peaceful history that nothing had happened so as a former Administrator of a forum I understand the plight of our Moderators and Administrators. They've been doing a great job enforcing the rules and in this case I dont see any indication of them taking "cheap-shots" at members, I think they have stayed within bounds the whole time. It's good that they're around to make sure things are the way they are and I'm thankful they are.

Peace guys... please! If you dont like what you see in a certain thread, ignore it and move on. However, I fear the worst maybe yet to come, we're losing some members over certain things and I sure wish those members could just overcome their predicaments, come back full circle to this forum and move on.

And once again Ill remind you IM not Paul. Do a whois on the site and you would be assured of who I am.

I unfortunately was celebrating my birthday so i missed what happened, BUT i have eve seen a moderator use their ower to belittle or overlord a fellow member. Unfortunately you are not the one who gets the PM's and emails from other members concearned as to how a thread is headed. the mods and adminare. SO we must make decisions as to nip it in the bud or let it play out. For the most part since i bought the site members have usually beaten the mods to moderating themselves. Which trust me is a great thing. I own other boards where if a thread like this were brought up half the members would end up in the Korner because the flaming would get uncontrolable.
I stand behind the moderators 100% Im sorry that you feel you know more than the mods do about how the site is ran, or what should or shouldnt be closed. but if we feel it is best for the site, well then it will get closed.
Sam

Apparently you don't understand what legal precedent is, let me explain. It means that you show me a case where someone in a situation similar to what Kurt Busch was in was charged with the crime you have described. Why should I make footnotes for your statements? Don't blame you shortcomings on me.

As for the cheap shot statement, when majestyx was making the correction as to who made the statement said "That statement, if that's what you call it, was made by Brand X Guy. Not Whizzer." Wrong again Whizzer.

As for the yelling part, majestyx posted "Is it completely necessary to bring this up AGAIN???? " and "They were BOTH wrong. Drop this and move on. " in a post which featured a quote from me. Typing in all caps is yelling. Strike 3 Whizzer. You're out.

Azz for your last statement, :cuckoo: :cuckoo: :cuckoo:

Damn, ya'll just drop it!! ..and yes, Brand X Guy, I'm yelling at you.

This is a racing forum... a place to come and discuss RACING. Different opinions will clash, yes, but some of you act like plain idiots over it. Everytime someone spills an opinion, some of you bitch and whine about it. Attack the post, not the poster. No wonder only about 20 different people post here!! .. the way some of you show your ass runs 'em away!!

Guys Please read this at your leasure. http://www.racing-forums.com/bbs/usage.html
Its there for a reason. At the end of the day this is SILLY. none of us were standing in the midst of the incident. so anything we can say is strickly conjecture and left to personal interpreptation.
he said she said. we can argue about it all night, but in the end our inteterpretation will have absolutly no affect on the outcome. So with that as rodney king once said"cant we all just get along? agree to disagree and wait till the next race.

Anytime, just trying to lend a hand. Sometimes I feel sorry for you having to put up with this crap... seems like its more of primary school then a racing forum.

Ya got ya teacher pretty much babysitting the rowdy ass kids.

I also liked Nick's response. It's short, but clever and right to the point. :)

To add to his response let me say I've made the mistake of attacking the poster many times, I can't really forgive myself for that and I dont think any of you will your own. Right now I think immaturity is being shown on both sides of the argument and instead of seeing the message being attacked, the people who post are finding themselves involved in vehement name-calling and other brazen activities. Please, I can only ask that members back down from their actions, take a hiatus or break or something, take it to Private Message, Or simply, dont even do it at all for crying out loud. I find it personally offensive when someone personally attacks me because of my views I think you people will find it offensive if someone did it to yours, so consider that the next time you want to call some a "whiner" or "narrow-minded".

This is a racing forum and I'm most worried that arguments have lowered the prestige and the appearance that this forum exumes over the guests and registered members, so in simple terms, it's driven away potential members and registered members and given the forum a reputation as bad as That's Racin but hell, I've dealt with worse but I dont want to deal with worse anymore. If you're a member and you get out of line and the moderators tell you to calm down, theyre trying to save you from yourself, self-control, a thing which I have not seen around most members, I even couldnt grasp the firm aspect of it until I got to know the members better. So, in short, members: control yourself, it wont just help everyone, it wont just help the admins and mods but it'll help yourself and damnit people, do whatever it takes to not give this forum a bad reputation also or yourselves for that matter.

you are proving no point, but want to pck petty fights with other member

If seeking the truth and backing up what you say is silly then so be it. Troll. Fishing expedition. I'm not the one using lame rhetoric to make my points. Or telling people not to bash people but then bash people themselves. What a hypocrite. Discussion forum my azz.

Ya know some members of this forum remind me of those little annoying dogs that bark all the time and never shut the hell up.

Since I was one of the posters that was in the discussion when Nascarwomen closed the tread. Which was her right. Didn't dother me one least little bit. I find this tread most amusing

Bud, you talk awful big behind a computer screen... which comes to no surprise.

Dont get on here and pick fights with other members and/or the mods. You can go to Yahoo Chat for that, but don't bring it here. Nobody really cares... your just making an ass of yourself!!

..and yes, I was yelling at you again.

Slick, man just let it go, he wont listen to me or you, he wont listen to the admins and mods. This Brand guy acts like a needy, know-it-all, mud-slinging, close-minded person who enjoys starting arguments, but then either runs and hides and hurls insults when he knows he cant hold his own ground. He also cant stand it when someone raises an argument that differs from his.

My advice to him? To Nut it up, to follow the guidelines like everyone else, and stop acting like an attention-crazed jackass. Perhaps then people would start to respect him.

Well, I've been gone for awhile, changed my name due to changes with Ward, But I see things pretty much remains the same here. CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG!!

WrdBurton a.k.a. NASCAT22

Oh everything is ok. Just a couple of posters tried to dig up old bones.

Not really, what happened is that one poster....me....let it be know that I would not put up with what appeared to me at the time....and still does btw....as censorship for censorships sake.

Never have and never will.

So again I say enjoy your little corner of the world but riddle me this.....

If there are close to 1600 registered members and less than 25 regular posters, does that mean that 1575 have left for one reason or another? And if so, why?
