College Basketball 2022-23

Why the hell is the DII > DI transition period four years? Twice in a row now a transitioning team has won their league and couldn’t go to the tournament (Bellarmine in 2022). This is actually twice in four years Merrimack should’ve advanced. Seems a bit much to keep a team out of the tourney for a full graduation cycle. Isn’t FCS > FBS two years?

UMass Lowell takes down New Hampshire and Vermont take down Binghamton to set up Saturdays America East championship at Patrick Gym in Burlington.

There’s been a lot of move ups in D 1 I don’t mind the move. They should get a shot at the NIT.

I'm so proud of Ohio State. They lost 9 in a row but have played well the last 4 games. They have beaten Wisconsin and Iowa in the Big Ten tournament. Tomorrow is Michigan State who will be tough.

Gosh, what a colossally disappointment of a season UNC just had. Embarrassing really. I can’t fathom how they haven’t really been able to hit a 3 pointer consistently in the last 3 years. The fun aside of last spring’s run, I’m happy to see this group hopefully move on...it’s been exhausting really. They’ve set basketball back decades with the way they play.

Hubert Davis has to have the hottest seat in sports.

UNC was the preseason No. 1 and now they’re NIT bound.
Hot take: He isn’t the guy. That’s going to be painfully obvious in the next few seasons. I was never a fan of the hire.....just because he was Roy’s guy and the school wanted to give Roy a going away present.

UNC likes to keep coaching hires "in the family", which sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't. That said, I expected much more from them this year after essentially only losing Manek from last years runner-up team. However, I think Davis is safe for 2-3 more seasons before his seat becomes too hot to sit in

I think Hubert gets two more years at minimum since UNC already has the #1 recruiting class of 2024.

It seems more and more often though that a team gets massively overhyped the next season after a crazy run in March. UNC was still fundamentally an 8 seed last season coming out of a down ACC. Even with most of the core coming back putting them at #1 is a pretty big stretch. But, that’s pollsters for you.

the thing is most forgot how bad they played most of last season and were on the bubble for some of it. I just cant fathom why since Roy's last year, 2 seasons now going on 3 that this team still is horrible at 3 point shooting.

I know. Im a Carolina fan, keeping it in the family is their way. Matt Doherty didnt work out either.

Matt Doherty's lack of coaching ability cost me and my team a coach that I didn't think was replaceable (Roy). Turns out it worked out for the best for both KU and UNC

On the women's side Vermont ladies punch their ticket by beating Albany

Ohio State has been so fun to watch but I think tomorrow they are going to be gassed. Fourth game in a row and it's Purdue.

They've done so well and I'm proud of them. Let's see if I'm right, I hope I'm wrong

Hoping a couple of SC schools can pull off upsets in the early session.

Furman with the first upset over Virginia

15 takes down the 2 as Princeton drops Arizona...would of preferred the 15 over the 2 tomorrow for my Catamounts

I've been watching all day. Ive got Northwestern on now. I really like them. They've had a bit of a disappointing year, imo. Audige and Boo Buie are v talented, that's why I thought they should have had more wins.

Unreal. Arizona was one of the best teams in the nation, not some questionable 3 or 4 seed going in. March Madness delivers early and often.

It really says a lot about the college basketball field these days that after so long of it never happening its happened twice in a few years. I love upsets.

Was telling my dad this afternoon it only has happened once. Had to end up after the same saying well now it’s twice lol.

Painter has been abysmal in the tournament in recent years. How do you not think to go to your NPOY once in the last 12 minutes?
Their guards really played poorly, it was ugly. Even with double teams they couldn’t get anything to Edey against the smallest team in the country and wound up resorting to poor shot selection. Felt like they played really tight.

UNC & Dayton skipping the NIT is so pathetic. Way better than the CBI or any season tournament.

Ohio State did too. They had a lot of team injuries and decided not to play any post season.

Yeah but they were only 16-19. Despite what people say about the NIT, it’s still a good tournament full of P5-P6 schools with conferences that just missed out.
