Teams next year might try to avoid getting the bye...
I’m extra curious to see how Indiana does now because I was reading a few weeks ago about how Cignetti likes to keep contact at a minimum in his practices. It’s hard to go four weeks in between hitting and being hit in-game. Also disrupts offensive rhythm in particular going that long without game reps.

Couldn’t watch the game but I had read that Day also took over offensive playcalling duties from Hartline. That’s a big change to make at the most critical time of the season.

I hate the expanded CFP but if we’re going to do this right the quarterfinals and semifinals need to be on campus as well. This crowd should be embarrassing for everybody involved, and the top seeds deserve a better reward than sitting on their asses getting cold for a month.

Eh not sure if I agree there. But they need to move it all up, 1st round during Army/Navy week. Then quarterfinals a week later followed by the semifinals for Jan 1. Play the title on the 8-9

The teams who make the natty will have to travel to three neutral sites in a row, and sometimes four if you make your CCG and earn a bye. It’s just outrageous travel not only for the teams but primarily the fan bases who have to pay their way to all these games and locations. It’s a much different proposition than March Madness where the first two weekends are primarily in 15-20k arenas, and there are more venues used to facilitate better geographical fit.

No matter what the schedule needs to be pushed forward though.

ESPN fraudulently hyped Bama up all year just for this ass whipping. So satisfying
I’m still baffled as to why this Bama team got propped up by the committee so much. Either of the past two Bama teams would’ve been the worst squad of the Saban era minus his first season in 2007. They’re just not those guys anymore. They wilted down the stretch. Notre Dame would’ve been much more competitive.

I had no idea you could get targeting for hitting with your shoulder.
I didn’t really like that call but by the letter I think it fits “forcible contact to the head or neck area”.

Wish they would lean towards only calling it with actual leading of helmet by the defender since it’s a disqualifying flag.

Regardless of how this result goes, Ole Miss has surpassed most people’s expectations of how they would perform with a makeshift coaching staff. Now if only they hadn’t let the clock run out on them at the end of the first half…
