This has absolutely nothing to do with what I'm saying Chex, lol. Those were reactions to an entirely different context than the one we are talking about - whether or not the 1 was capable of running down and passing the 18 without the 42's intervention is what I'm talking about.

But that hypothetical is not what happened, and at that point, I thought Kurt had used his stuff up and overdrove it, harder than he had to all race at more than 35 laps. So I thought Kyle had him. I was wrong.

Two entirely different scenarios here man. But the simple standard is that the 1 was the dominant car lol.

He got beat all day. No reason really for him to try to deliberately affect the outcome of the race.
Not really bummed that Kyle didn’t win because I enjoy seeing Kurt win too. Busch boys 1 and 2 is a good day. HMS was never a threat. Good race day.

I have a feeling you would not say the same if one of your drivers did it. They are teammates, and he was racing to stay on the lead lap. No harm no foul.

Lack of respect. Not to mention, he wasn't fighting to stay on the lead lap, he was deliberately holding Kyle up so his teammate could pass him. Not as blatant as Richmond 2013 but it was manipulation, and if JGR teammates did that crap, the fans would be so irate NASCAR would probably launch an investigation. Since it all seems to be about pleasing Twitter these days.

It was wrong. And it always pisses me off when lapped cars show blatant disrespect to others. One day Ross will be leading and fighting lapped traffic and he'll be pissed off if he loses the race the same way.

Ross is one of the most talented drivers in Cup, top-10 talent easily. It's the decisions he makes that's held him back, and even then, he's a rookie and has knocked on the door of victory already.

If he ever smartens up, he's a sure thing champion.

Ross won’t be leading a Cup race anytime soon.

So it's wrong to try to stay on the lead lap by taking away the leaders line? We all know if Neuman did this no one would bat an eye

He didn’t block the leader (teammate,) he took the line away from the 2nd place car (not teammate.) Kyle will remember this and Ross might get dumped in a similar situation (not that I believe Ross will be battling for a Cup win.)

He's a Cup Series rookie. It's been taking guys a few years to get acclimated to these cars.

I wouldn't be surprised if Chastain won at the "Brickyard" given how strong he's been on the road courses. Unlike a good chunk of the Cup Series roster, Chastain got to Cup in a CGR car on talent alone... which is a large part of why he's so beloved by the fanbase.

He just makes a lot of really awful decisions.

Put Chastain in a Hendrick car and he has 3+ wins already this year.

LOL.

The fans lost their collective ****** minds when Newman held MattyD up at Bristol allowing Hamlin to get past.

Also, Newman does it to stay on the lead lap or not get passed. Chastain did it to hold up a car so his teammate could drive by. There's a huge difference.
 
Like Ross said, his spotter said that Kurt wanted the bottom and pork chop was running the top...his loss

2) starting a feud with the 42 might be the dumbest thing Kyle could do at this point. Kyle has a lot to lose......Ross not so much

Put Norm Benning in a Hendrick car and he’d have three wins.
Ross is right where he belongs, doing what he does best. He’ll never be a Cup champ, he’s 28, not 18.

A lot to lose.

Kyle's in the playoffs, Ross isn't. If they get in a feud and Ross deliberately takes him out of a playoff race, he'll be suspended by NASCAR. And he doesn't have a ride locked down for next year.

Were we watching the same race???? The 18 was leading when he caught the 42. 42 took the high line, held up the 18 allowing the 1 to get alongside the 18

I'm surprised that the gerbils who were busy drooling over the 18 and their narrative of first pitting didn't say anything about the 1 car having a lap better tires. nah I'm really not surprised
