I had 50 bucks on Hocevar getting his first win before gibbs at the start of the year. That sucks

He doesn't quite have the luxury of being in a Gibbs Toyota.

They asked Rodney Childers last night if he was worried about leaving Connor Zilisch out on old tires after he won the race last night. He said he brought Kevin in a number of times for tires at the last of the race at Bristol and they lost every time. The same thing happened today to Blaney. I went with it and said they gave the race to Gibbs and they did. Listen to Rodney lol.

It took Chase Elliott almost the same amount of time in Hendrick Equipment?

Yes. It took Byron and Elliott both until their 3rd year. Look at them now. Ive always said it takes about 3-5 years typically in cup for a driver to really settle in. Logano is another great example. And even Briscoe, though SHE closing affected that as well.

Gibbs is not bad. And I’m definitely not a fan of him to any JGR. At all.
Unlike most here I’ve thought he’s been pretty damn good the last couple of years for his age. He didn’t win but he’s been in the hunt for a while now.

Ty Gibbs isn't my favorite by a long shot. But he has been running well enough to win, when the opportunity presented itself. He drove a great race and it was no fluke.

He was also my pic'm driver this week.
