Cup RACE thread --- Bristol

They asked Rodney Childers last night if he was worried about leaving Connor Zilisch out on old tires after he won the race last night. He said he brought Kevin in a number of times for tires at the last of the race at Bristol and they lost every time. The same thing happened today to Blaney. I went with it and said they gave the race to Gibbs and they did. Listen to Rodney lol. ;)

I just think for somebody to take 3 years in jgr equipment is ****** stupid

It took Chase Elliott almost the same amount of time in Hendrick Equipment?
Yes. It took Byron and Elliott both until their 3rd year. Look at them now. Ive always said it takes about 3-5 years typically in cup for a driver to really settle in. Logano is another great example. And even Briscoe, though SHE closing affected that as well.

Gibbs is not bad. And I’m definitely not a fan of him to any JGR. At all.
Unlike most here I’ve thought he’s been pretty damn good the last couple of years for his age. He didn’t win but he’s been in the hunt for a while now.

Fantastic race and the only thing socials like Reddit can discuss is fans attendance. This fan base legit worries about the stupidest things they cant control. Like say with travel/fuel, hotel, food, tickets, merch….you spent 2k to go attend yesterday’s race and you’re gonna go there to count fans in the stands instead of enjoying the race. Complete lunacy and frankly idiocy if you ask me. In some instances, this fan base is NASCAR’s own biggest impediment to getting back to what it was.

"Teacher says, every time someone on RF mentions reddit, an angel gets its wings ripped off."
Lol, They had one post started by a whiner worried because he had a row to himself lol. They for the most part were saying the same things like they say here getting the same answers given here. A new one for me was one joker was complaining about how easy it was to park. I thought that was pretty funny.

Wonder what the deal was with William Byron he ran in about 30th position or worse all day.
My guess is they put another steering box on the car because it wouldn't steer properly. That didn't look like that was the problem to fix the handling.

Good idea when Nascar applied the PJ-1 traction compound before every race. It was a success. It opened up both racing grooves sooner. They raced all over that track. A lot of side by side duels for positions.
Glad the booth started mentioning backmarkers in a positive way about how they made the racing more interesting because the leaders had to work the traffic.
Growing up from a dirt racing background it was strange when some announcers acted like the backmarkers needed to signal and pull off the track when the leaders came around lol.

I was busy and missed most of the 1st stage, watched the 2nd stage on TV and most of the 3rd stage I listened on the radio. From what I took in it seemed like a pretty decent race. So hard to tell based on the radio broadcast because those guys make everything sound dramatic.

Ty is far from one of my favorite drivers, but it sure didn't seem like he lucked into this one. The only question now is this the start of something? Or a one and done?

He has been pretty close all year, 5 top 5's out of 8 races.

He isn't a one and done. Toyota has it bagged. The other boys better figure it out
