Cup RACE thread --- Charlotte Roval

Which is why champion doesn’t mean anything.
Favoritism shouldn’t be a factor. Ratings shouldn’t determine a real race.
well ya see, all of those years you weren't watching they had stuff falling off of cars all of the time and didn't throw the yellow until it did. They don't throw the yellow because it MIGHT. wake up.

It’s already happened. He just doesn’t know it yet.

he could’ve done himself a favor and at least let it be after bristol… but he ‘needed’ to be the funny tough adult guy putting himself above everyone he competes against… he was reaching hard at Vegas… he wasn’t even focused on the title at that point… unreal he defeated himself in such an embarrassing way.

he really made elliott look incredible the last few weeks though.

Wake up? I’ve been awake the whole time. I’m not the “everything’s great” guy that you are. When I see something wrong I speak out.
Put me on ignore if you can’t handle it.

Without the playoffs, it be them two neck and neck
Yup.

Which is why I don't really care how it plays out. Because it *seems like* it could come down to those two under all 3 Championship formats of the last 20 years. Year long, Denny is less than 10 ahead. OG chase, they've got to be neck and neck. And playoffs, I take no issue with a winner take all finale going down between those two, if it ends up like that under all 3 formats.

Imagine that? If those two are racing for the championship in the finale, and the winner of that race determines the champ under all recent 3 formats, our fanbase would be so confused about how to feel lolol

I don't think Elliott has looked incredible the last few weeks. He squeaked into the round of 8 so there is that

Looks alot better than the 4 car right now. I bet they’re having a great time. Maybe ole happy ‘can still go for the win’ though…

we all realize that’s gonna be a top 8 driver though. Elliott is at least one of those

Life has many doors, Kev boy!

I choose not to dance on the grave of the 4 just yet. Truth is not one of us know how the new car next year is going to run and you don’t know how Harvick is going to run in it. Some of you might be disappointed if Harvick has a resurgence next year

I’ll be over being mad by then. I actually like Harvick. But he has been a jackass last few weeks. By the time 2022 roles around I’ll be pass it

Thing is, even if Hass was having an off year as most agree… the 4 car was at least good lately. Good enough to be top 8 at least… harvick took himself and his team out though.

try larson or chase
I like Chase but hate his fans and hate seeing NASCAR's favoritism. :idunno:

I don't even want to watch these races when every time I tune in, NASCAR's doing something to manipulate the outcome, to the point that it makes me question their motives when they are doing things by the book. Take last week, knowing that a good chunk of NASCAR's toxic fanbase wants Bubba to fail, there was a point where I thought they were going to restart that race at 6pm and only run 10 laps just so someone else would get by.

Bill France Sr. was no paragon of virtue either. He was certainly not above manipulating situations to benefit the series. I would also remind you that NASCAR's own self proclaimed holy grail moment was the 1979 Daytona 500 where the two leaders, driving like complete jackasses took each other out and then had a fist fight in the mud, joined by a driver that wasn't even involved. I didn't see anything today that topped that.
Exaclty. It's ALWAYS been about the show first

That’s this year. I have zero idea how things are going to be next year

It was an exciting race. I was on the edge of my seat wondering how things would turn out. I think the 5 & 9 teams were the stars of the race, but there were plenty of great drives in the pack.

I don't know what Harvick was thinking, there was no way anything good could happen from his action on Elliot (karma took care of it). I suspect he isn't done expressing himself.

The playoffs seem to have two points races with the elimination race being the barn burner.

No problems. Just saying he was on route to winning before Harvick was a jackass
Eh, I wasn't that optimistic. On his way to winning he had way too many laps to go..and as we saw that was significant. The Gerbils are good at picking winners (Byron) with 50 laps to go. nobody should be those guys

Had one of if not the fastest cars (even after the damage) he stood a really great chance, even if not he would have been good enough to not “sneak in” or whatever you said.

He's done. Him peaking past 40 was already an anomaly..I don't think he gets it back.

In all seriousness, even though he's the butthurt loser in this situation, he doesn't need to prove anything to anyone, and sort of has the last laugh. A 59 race winner, champion, dominant driver over a 5-7 year period, winner of the Daytona 500, Coke 600, Brickyard 400 and Southern 500 (only Gordon, Earnhardt and Johnson have done that), he's had a hell of a career and is one of the best to ever do it. His resume, along with his streak of dominance from 2014-2020 may not be duplicated by any active driver.

So even if he sucks, his fand still have that to fall back on.

*Shrugs*

The swallows would disagree.

This is why Champion doesn’t mean anything anymore.
Last year Harvick won the most races, led the most laps, had the best average finish and lost the championship.
I’m not necessarily a Harvick fan. I’m a stock car fan.
Today officials chose not to black flag a car that was losing sheet metal simply because of who the driver is. This is a slap in the face to every team and driver that participated today. This isn’t real racing. This is WWF fabricated BS.
Larson deserves the cartoon trophy this year. I hope he gets it.
It's pretty obvious nascar will go out of there way to help certain popular drivers. I just hope they don't steal Larson's trophy. And I don't even like Larson, but he's obviously the deserving champ.

He was wrecked out of the lead at Bristol. He finished 2nd at Vegas. Talledega is Talledega. And was clearly the faster car at the Roval today but was wrecked again.

Resulted certainly haven't been there, but the car has been fast.

Don't think this was posted.

If you don't like Reddick, do you have a soul?

Same thing with Gordon. Chase and Gordon are generational talents, but a large portion of their fan base is so over the top.

I can agree. Some Chase fans piss me off. Same with some Jr fans back when he was racing. I try my best to be a good fan of these drivers, I slip sometimes but I like to think I’m one of the good ones
