Cup RACE thread --- Darlington

Disappointed that two years into throwback week at Darlington, we still haven't seen a real throwback win the race.

I think yesterday's race is the only race where people didn't complain about the winner. :XXROFL:this is why I love y'all.
It would be boring if we all agreed and liked the same things

That's very true. I think they are maybe a few drivers out there who could win that would make the whole forum(or at least 90%) of us happy to see win, and that's likely the underdogs out there.

More post race is on NBCSN at 11 according to my guide.

Harvick slapped the wall when hunting Truex down. Shut up

Pit stop were terrible, but imo lost his chance when he pancaked it.

Waited till Harvick had his rant before switching over to Domers/Horns.

Pile driving, dominant car.........he's much more entertaining pissed off than happy.

didn't Harvick restart on the front row? How did his pit crew lose him the race?

He pit crew was losing him spots well before he slapped the wall

Being six seconds slower on one stop didnt really help him any, but that was air gun issue on that stop.

So Newman is the only other one that can get in on points next weekend it looks like. Kahne on back need a win provided Buescher doesn't **** the bed.

When you're out back in more difficult positions, you have to push harder. It happened too many times because every time Kevin would come back another bad pit stop. It happened four times tonight to lose 18 spots total. That is ridiculous in itself.

You can't keep doing that, digging holes create issues. This has been reoccuring for two years now, it's not new.

Everyone sure turned on Truex quickly. I'm kinda neutral on him. I get being sick of the sob story, but can someone make sense of this 'arrogance' stuff?

Performing at a high level in this type of environment almost requires a sense of entitlement. You have to believe that you deserve it to the exclusion of others. If you think any of the guys who win regularly don't believe that and are just aw shucks happy to be there...

The current points scale is easier to understand than the old scale, but the current playoff format is more complicated than the old format.
Simpler doesn't mean it's better. I'd much rather have a scale that a 7 year-old can't memorize but adequately rewards strong results and encourages hard racing than one that's simple but doesn't reward the right performance and makes teams take fewer risks.
