Cup RACE thread --- Darlington

Harvick. I feel like that 4 team has more than what everyone thinks for these last 10 races. Won’t be surprised if they end up with 3 wins with the last win being at Phoenix when he’s crowned 2021 champion

Missed the entire context of my reply. LOL.

Rappers don't rap about drinking non stop all the time and then going to church.
Oh right I think I understand it now! Rappers can degrade women, sing about doing drugs and drinking all day but not mention church. Got it!

Your cognitive bias slip is showing.
I'd prefer Hamlin not won, I've made that quite clear. There's no slip. Nothing I said was false, so I'm using those factors to rationalize my frustrations, so what? Lol

bingo. They give hyper people speed(aderall) and it does the reverse, it slows then down. Let' s not tell the gerbils they are so excited about their new gimmick.
It's awful, Adderall is too easily prescribed and people med seek it way way too often.

Not even close.

Saying that country music is trash that pretends to be moral and the attracts that kind of audience.

The two guys I know, it has been a godsend
That's good to hear. On the other end of it.. Some people (I know of a few) mistake cognitive symptoms of anxiety and stress as attentive issues and will seek out Adderall from an indifferent prescriber. Another thing I've seen is people who cope with that stress with marijuana, alcohol, cigarettes (or any potentially addictive behavior) are quick to "med-seek" Adderall, which unfortunately reinforces the behavior. But that's a whole separate conversation. I'm glad that your buddies are people who sound like they genuinely benefit from it.

Yes.

Country Music has a drinking problem. Bigtime.
We talking country music in general, or pop/mainstream country? Today's mainstream modern country music is definitely a culture that promotes a certain lifestyle. I don't know if it's fair to say it has a drinking problem though.

Please take the 4 minutes to watch this. I'm guessing this hits the nail on your feelings for modern country music. It's funny too, Burnham is pretty awesome.

True country music is dead for the most part, at least in the mainstream aspect. There are still a few that have some good steel guitar in them, Alan Jackson of course, some of Billy Currington. And I enjoy SOME of the mainstream country songs from people like Jake Owens, Luke Combs, Miranda (at least her older stuff), Jon Pardi, Eric Church

Alan Jackson is the real deal. I worked on the Tall Tall Trees video.
I met all the guys. I believe I remember the steel player saying he bought his flattie in the 70s.

I prefer southern rock to country.

I'd say the Allman Brothers, but they're more blues/Jazz than anything. Especially when Duane was alive.

The Outlaws were a blast too.

Man seeing the Rate the Race comments I can’t help but laugh. “No green flag passes for the lead” is literally proving NASCAR correct about going with the 550.

Me and my buddy were discussing this throughout the race, the engineering is simply too advanced with sims and computer technology anymore that allows them to squeeze an absurd amount of speed out of the cars. With that extra 200 HP and clean air on the splitter you are going to be nearly untouchable

The music business is like about everything else. The 1% ers have a lock on it. The one around here is called clear channel communications and they own all of the larger music stations in the area, and you have to listen to what they feed out. Same sh*t different day(year) around here for the most part.

This is amazing. 💀💀💀

The way I interpret the playoffs is when you add in the playoff points, roughly most of the top 12 during the season are the top 12. It would take another disaster before they were in trouble with the cutoff down to 12. Harvick, Kez, Bell, Reddick, and Almirola look to me that they are on shaky ground

ASCAP is responsible for what you hear or don’t hear.
ASCAP collects royalties.
Clear Channel OWNS most of the radio and TV stations in the area..many other areas also

Company History:
A fast-growing, diversified media company, Clear Channel Communications, Inc., operates nearly 200 radio stations and roughly 20 television stations in 39 markets in the United States. The company acquired the bulk of its broadcasting properties following the Telecommunications Act of 1996, which lifted restrictions on national radio station ownership.

all subjective but Id rather somebody kick me in the nutts instead of listening to to no talent rap $hit
60 feet that-a-way is my Hispanic neighbor. What I call Carnival music 3-6 hours EVERY SATURDAY! Same exact tune. Can't hear a word just Rumpdadump, rumpdahdump, rumpdahdump.... ALL DAY LONG!

I do like all kinds of music. Chris Stapleton is amazing. But the commercial mentioned here gets an immediate mute from me. Don't care for Bro country.

The season ended last week for me. The rest of the races have same importance as the Winston. And I know it's long gone...

Every Stapleton song sounds like the last one. He has the same tone as the guys in the broadcast booth on the weekends.
I think Chris Stapleton is really Jeff Burton.

What they’ve lacked in speed they make up for in consistency. Very rarely do they ever have a truly bad day and only Larson and Hamlin have more Top 10s. They could point their way through a couple of rounds at least.

So I wasn’t able to follow along on here like I usually do as I was with family and listened to race on radio and watched on IPad and tv intermittently. I did see this though and holy $hit did I fall in love. More of this please.
