Cup RACE thread — Darlington

Some people saw a boring race.
I saw a great performance by Briscoe and a spirited run by Reddick he drove the shiet of his car, and should be proud.

The Ronnie Van Zant look was mentioned by another poster last week, it was funny to me.

Greatest night ever. So ****** happy for James Small.

Fun watching little Brisco enjoying it all.
My boy used to stick his tongue out like that.
The memory of that is easily the best part of my day.
I freaking love Briscoe. He is the opposite of who I usually really pull for. If he turns out to be an a**hole, I give up. Honestly, I really like that he takes a knee as soon as he gets out of the car after a win. It feels genuine. He's a Dad....a family guy....loves his wife, Glad he is in a Toyota. I think that he and James are going places, and they might get there sooner than I thought....

He seems sincere and like the real deal to me. I loving watching grass root drivers when they prove the naysayers were wrong.

HMS took the night off. Elliot at the top in 17th.
As an absolutely PATHETIC performance by a four car team as I can remember. Someone literally should be fired for that 48 pit stop debacle. I worked for four years with a revolving cast of unpaid amateurs and the worst pit stop we ever did was ten times better than that dumpster fire. If this ends up preventing Alex from advancing to the next round, it will be the SECOND time his crew has completely screwed him over. That can't be allowed to stand.

19 guys just hit the setup this weekend. Good effort from that team.
Toyota hit the set up. All three teams represented in the Top 10 domination. Chase Briscoe's talent now has a time to shine....and he shined.

Excellence is funny isn't it? Chevy got their collective asses kicked. Add the poor pit stop performance (which I have seen a million times from MY Toyotas), and the night was a Chevy disaster. The biggest problem the Bow Ties had was Toyota....which I guess is my point. Chevy didn't suck, really. They got beat (as did Ford). In a series that is as close as this, you add pit stop stuff...and it looks even worse. MY Toyotas were so dominant that arguably OUR two most potent bullets screwed themselves in the pits, and WE still stuck six in the Top 10. It is so interesting to me....and what I love about this sport the most....that everybody has similar stuff, but one group of engineers was superior last night. The other thing I love about this sport is something we can't see, but I wish we could. Can you imagine what the Hendrick engineering group is going through right now? It isn't chaos. Engineers solve problems. Those guys and gals probably haven't slept, and are on their 10th cup of coffee. Know what else I love about this sport? The Toyota engineers are doing the exact same thing in spite of the domination. So cool.

I'll say at first I thought it was just the 9 and 48 screwing up but the 5 and 24 threw out the parachutes in stage 3...never would of guess Chase be the highest finishing HMS car the way his night went.
