So you ever going to tell me how many chances (legit chances so don’t throw his number of starts at me since most he was in a crappy car) he had in a race winning car?
Bristol and Dega are the biggies. Dega he flat choked. But, hey, so did Chase for 2 years, right? I hold no animosity towards Matt. I just roll my eyes at this whole working class hero meme he’s become. He has ZERO wins in top three divisions.

Look all I’m saying is the man is good, this is gonna be his first bad finish in awhile and it’s not his fault. Dude has been knocking off top 10 left and right the last few weeks. But until he was in that 21 he didn’t really have a car that could compete week in and week out. So last season and this season is all he’s truly had. Hell you mention Bristol and probably would’ve won that in the damn 95 car if not for the contact with Newman that year. If he had been with a top team longer, I’m sure he have at least a win or two by now.

I was hoping Matty D could be the Kenobi to Young Ryan Blaneys Skywalker, but the sith made sure it wasn't to be. Hopefully this will fuel YRB to new heights

I want to address this.

Dega ending was a ****show. NASCAR should
have issued penalties but didn’t. As for Matt’s decision making, he followed everything his spotter told him to do and went to the high lane. That lane just didnt have the energy. Losing a superspeedway race with 3 to 4 lanes forming isn’t a choke, it’s a gamble.

At Bristol he took a half baked Gibbs car to the front and put himself in position to win. Newman did Newman things and went so far to cut down on Matt and damaged his RF bumper. That ruined the downforce on the nose of Matt’s car and he was instantly wrecking tight. He succumbed to Denny in the closing laps.

This idea that he’s a choker is lunacy.

I respect that and admit it is very, very easy to see your side of it.

Yeah. Matty is talented, and isn't a choker.

To a few points though, he HAS become a cartoon character at this point. He deserves a cup ride, but the sympathy and sob story got tedious, and I personally found myself less likely to root for him than I did 2 years ago.

Larson wins the regular season and brings a wheelbarrow load of points into the playoffs. He's got to be a favorite to go all the way.
I think so. They have that Nashville car for Phoenix, Cliff said. That car probably was the most dominant win of the entire season.

Yeah, if Chase had to botch it and take someone out, it really sucks it was the 21. If it were 22, 18, 11, etc I wouldn’t bat an eye.
Yeah, that’s why I hate it so much. Like I really wanted him to win or at least have a good finish. Typical crap that happens here at this track. On to next week.

This. I’m just not good at articulating it. The whole woe is me act, Reddit fans, it’s all too much.

So showing emotions is a bad thing? Got it understood. Shame we live in a world where people think that way.

Chase really doesn’t have a “race you the way you race me” outlook. He’s just incredibly aggressive and gutsy all the time. A lot of times it pays off, sometimes like today, it ends up bad.

The guy gave everything he had to the sport. Came from nothing, if a couple things go differently he'd be signed long term. Instead he'll likely never get another competitive ride again. Damn him for caring.

If anything, he’s too timid. At the end tonight, he was too aggressive. Sucks.

That’s NOT what I said. The woe is me pity parties he throws online are. Wearing your heart on your sleeves as he does post race is fine. I just thought the whole theater after Burton was announced was disingenuous at best because he’s known since last year it was so. I hope he lands on his feet somewhere.

He’s had a better season than a certain watermelon crushing cartoon character but everyone is fine with having that around. You gotta do better than that.

The only Matt videos that get any attention are the negative ones because the media uses “if it bleeds it leads” every second of the day. I invite you to actually go look at his profiles with his videos. I’d say that 85% of them are normal vlog type stuff.

Well my reply wasn’t to you anyway there. As far as knowing since last year, it’s been Brad was staying, can’t really blame a guy for thinking something could change when you know other stuff changes around the team. He knew Cedric was getting the car. When the 2 was going to be open, how should he know that Burton would get the 21?

Good to know that we arent judging him based on his talent anymore. Now that he puts on some great runs, right when he says he’s gonna do it, he’s no longer mediocre but his personality is the problem. Meanwhile, the folks that actually know him have said that his attitude in the garage and around his teammates is always uplifting.
