The new ticker on the left side is a step back compared to the last one.

I've always preferred the vertical column on the left side of the screen. At least then I can keep track of the top 15-20 at a glance and not have to wait for the scrolling to catch up.

Drivers can't separate themselves from the field anyway, so staying in line is the smartest thing to do right now.
