Cup RACE thread --- Daytona

A wreck like that was absolutely nothing to a driver 10 years ago. We cannot be taking steps backwards in safety.

Okay, he's out.

Friendly fire from his own teammate, he hit the 14

Cars didn't flip like that when they were FASTER than this.

An airborn blowover and then 3-5 barrell rolls was A LOT for cars going faster than this.

Maybe it was circumstantial, but holy **** I'm not okay with this.

The safety hatch in top of the car immediately opened on the first roll. That's a major major problem. Roll cage held up well. I don't think you can go through those g forces and be unharmed though.

Wow

They're so flat underneath that I'm sure that didn't help any
So far with these cars that seems to be a major cause of the cars starting to blowover. Harrison burton last year in the 500 blewover all on his own. It used to be that the cars had to be hit while facing backwards that would push them over

Got home in time for the last 12 laps, might be the craziest wreck I've seen watching live. Him getting out was great to see, never seen a car get air like that while rolling

I take serious issues with that wreck.

We've seen COUNTLESS cars blowover like that in that exact spot and flip MUCH less at higher speeds.

Not okay.
