Well looking at that shot of cars on the backstretch and the running order Cindric is the only 500 winner in the top 20
 
Would love to see Chastain hold off the field here. But it just feels like an HMS Chase Elliott story.

Would be absolutely shocking if it isn't the 9/24

The biggest issue NASCAR has on these tracks is that people just accept that this kind of **** is inevitable so drivers don't seem to do anything to mitigate the danger. Everyone should have to watch the 2001 Spring Talladega race to see that you can pack race and not wreck.

As I pointed out, the last two Daytona 500s ending in the year with a 4, the most popular driver won. It’s destiny!
 
So happy to see my pick-em driver dodge this one! I mean…he’s a lap down and was half a lap back from the pack, but hey…he didn’t wreck!
 
I’m not sure that there’s really a “solution” to how these usually end, but it kinda sucks that an event of this stature usually devolves into this, no matter how good the first 90-95% may have been. Just doesn’t feel befitting of what the 500 is supposed to be. Oh well.

We’ve seen how inconsistent nascar is with judgement calls. Let it police itself IMO

There were other examples but I remember that one because it's caution free. Most of these wrecks are caused by a driver acting like a dumbass so of course it's the driver's fault. They literally just ran a bunch of laps in a pack without wrecking until Bowman forgot how to drive.
