Cup RACE thread --- Dover

You are right, wrecks may not be exclusively because of poor luck.

It's a youth thing. Someone so young, who is a famous athlete, has all sorts of ways to introspectively deal with the pressure he faces which itself can affect perception, and performance. A lot of these young drivers are examples of this. It's not a bad thing. But you can tell what young drivers need more time to get fully comfortable. Jones is one of them. Chase Elliot, for whatever reason, is not as much
Jones has a ton of talent, there is no doubt about that, he will be up front competing for wins , its just gonna take some time for him to fully get adjusted to the Cup cars I think, more time then it took Chase and Blaney.

It seems a few folks are insinuating Larson was crying........ what do these same folks think Kyle Busch does when he doesn't win???????

Kyle's the biggest crybaby and moaner and woe is me spoiled brat competitor that ever hit the Nascar circuit......

And Larson had enough maturity to not say "THIS IS NOT A REAL RACE!" Larson showed passion, he was legitimately disappointed, but he wasn't an ass.

I don't care who won the race today. The OT line has got to go or they need to desperately modify it. The fact that they throw a green flag and don't even complete a lap in a green whit checkered and the winner is determined is stupid. Why are we even restarting the race? If they want to have a line, have it be at the flag and make it so that they have to at least take the white under green. If they wreck and the leader has already taken the white then let that be it, but to throw a green flag in OT and have the race end off of turn 2 before the white even gets thrown is asinine.

Larson was not whiny. He even gave credit to JJ. He said it himself, "he is a 7 time champion and he just showed why." The 42 crew was frustrated by JJ laying back a car length on the restart, but I watched the ready and I didn't see it. Larson gets it. He knows that he is weak in those situations. He will fix it because he is that good. Sometimes it takes some heartbreaker to get over the hump. The kid is one of the 2 or 3 dominant cars week in and week out and he is locked into the chase. The rest will come.

I would like to see NASCAR clean the track a little better. Thus is the second time this year that I have seen these guys have to drive through the dust of the speedy dry. I see weekly short tracks that do a better job.

I find it funny that anyone would think Larson drove like an idiot today. He gave MTJ a lane and a half to get under him and pass him. If you are ****** faster to the point that you think someone needs to get out of your way then ****** pass the guy. The fact is that he wasn't that much faster and they were trading lap times. Instead he became a bitch about it and moved him and then complained over the radio. Just shut the **** up and pass him. Stop the ******* complaining. It is a ****** race, it isn't follow the leader. Some of these guys act like you should just wave them on.

It was good hard racing all the way around. There is nothing wrong with making it hard for someone to pass you and there is nothing wrong with moving people as long as you aren't stuffing them in the fence. I hop these two keep running into each other. It could make for a great run to the end.

Wow, another second place finish for Larson. I think Danica may have her eye on one one of the vacant cars at HMS with that top ten finish. A top ten in Dover and a win at Pocono should at least get her foot in the door for an interview. She could sell cars for Hendrick Chevrolet during the week and race for Hendrick Motorsports on the weekend.:)

DP's CC earned his pay yesterday for sure.
