That's basically what happened to Jeff Gordon. When he only had one or two Cup tracks left to win at, NASCAR added Kentucky to the schedule.

Kentucky is the only track that Jeff Gordon never won at in the Cup series.

Instead, Kyle Busch became the first Cup driver to win at every track in the Cup series. Ugh.
