Cup RACE thread --- Pocono

Sad face it looks like old Victory Lane/Pagoda/Stage is gone at Pocono! That was unique!

Wanted to see what the lead story was on 60 minutes. Used to be you would chose the channel and there you go. Now you have to have permission to leave the app, find CBS somewhere and then jump thru the hoops to get back to the race. Sucks badly.
It is not complicated.
The easy solution is to get a dedicated TV that is setup for each channel. Then you issue the threats against anyone in the house who would dare to change them.

Tell you what.....James is on NASCAR Radio a lot.....he is a smart dude, and if you listen carefully you can hear the frustration over Martin back in the day. Particularly, he talks a ton about how often Chase is in the shop--suggesting in ways to clever to explain that Martin never was--and how much he appreciates it. This team is building, and it is awesome to see James get the respect he deserves. Great ****** day!!!!!!

Elliott is 2 positions on the race track away from being 3rd in points without even sniffing a win. Man has some undeniable race craft.
Agree 100% but winning is all that matters sadly. The only good thing is that no one is racking up a tone of playoff points this year like in years past. He was getting killed in turn 3 yesterday. You could see on his in-car the car was just all over the place trying to get off 3 which is no coincidence to me since the Fords and Yotas own the flat tracks now and that's the flat turn at Pocono. Highest finishing Chevy in 5th and had NTOHING for the Fords and Yotas once tires wore some.

OK. I am going to start by saying that everything good I said about PRIME is now rescinded from me. I was outside almost all day yesterday and came in to watch the race around 7pm only to find that the live PRIME broadcast was still on and almost had the race spoiled because it instantly started showing the broadcast in the background when I turned it on. At that point, rewind was not available. So I turned it off thinking that maybe it was because the live broadcast was still on so I watched the Yankee game instead and figured I'd come back later. Annoying but no big deal. Then I come back around 9:00pm to find that the race is not available to watch - no replay. I had to watch the MAX coverage of Chase's in-car only instead. When I cancelled PRIME this AM I gave them an earful. To assume that everyone watches a race live in the summer during the day is a joke and there is just no need to take the replay/rewind option away. I am glad their stint is over and hope they wake up before next season.

As for the race, I can only judge based on what I could see and absorb from Chase's perspective but it did not seem great. Was there an on track pass for the lead? Seemed like more of the same track position BS and very hard to pass. Seemed like cars could catch each other but then hit a wall of air.

The Chevys are just inept right now on flat ovals and I have little excitement for the playoffs at this point as they are still behind the Toyotas and Fords. Buescher blew past Chase like he was not moving once tires wore in and for Chase to be the highest finishing Chevy as far back as he was is just sad. I know the Chevys are fine at higher banked tracks and road courses but forget it at places like Loudon and Phoenix...again.

As for Chase, it's nice to see back to back top-5's and some clean races. They may be getting momentum at the right time but this car/racing and championship format just don't suit him right now. I'd complain about how bad they all suck but I am sure at that point I am just whining....pretty sure even Larson said this racing sucks though. I only hear that when he does not win of course. At least KB said right in victory lane once the cars suck and he hates driving them back when the stupid car of tomorrow came out. LOL.

I just pulled up my prime now and the race replay is right there

I've never had an issue, if the race is live when I turn it on I get the option to start from the beginning, watch live or watch a race recap then go live. If I had watched some of the race then left and come back I get a 4th option of resume where I left off.

Well, then, clearly we need to change the car and format. Is this @WhiningSmoke with a refreshed persona?
Hmmmm....I don't recall saying that in that post but if I did feel free to point it out. We do need to change it though but not for Chase obviously. The car and racing just suck and it's really hard to argue that at this point but to each their own. As far as Toyota/Ford owning the flat ovals - more power to them. Chevy needs to figure it out because this has been going on since this car started in 2022. I am more concerned with the lack of ability to pass - particularly at the front of the pack. When you have a guy saving fuel that is still able to hold the lead then there is a problem. I also hate the format and always have - even when Chase won in 2020. He was not deserving of a title that year IMO. As a fan I am far more proud that he averaged close to a 10th place finish last season for the whole season.

I only had an issue this week and I researched it and it seems some others were having the same and the supposed solution was to restart Prime but that did not work. It clearly kept giving a message that rewind/replay was not available. Not sure when it finally resolved but it was after 11:00pm. NASCAR is just going to keep losing old-school fans because of BS like this.

I really am trying to learn. Im pretty sure the Replay was on there last night but I am now going to step away from my computer
I know the usual jackass suspects here are trying to imply there was no issue but there was. It was not affecting everyone but we researched it and there were others reporting the same issue. It was very clear. When I was on the live broadcast I kept trying to rewind and it would not and said "rewind/replay not available." Then when closing and reopening it gave the option to "Join Live" or "Rapid Recap" and that was it - Nop "Start Frim Beginning." The supposed solution we researched was to restart the APP but that did nothing. I had no issues with it until this week so despite what some would like to think this was not a competency issue. I am always the first to admit that even though others really struggle with it. LOL

Yes Stan because if anyone says anything you disagree with they are always wrong and/or trolling. I am not sure what we'd all do without you and your infinite wisdom. If you could remind me of the rules on what I am supposed to say and not that might be helpful. I do recall that I am not allowed to say anything that can be construed as negative against Larson but I do slip from time to time. I am trying to get better. I know I'd be lost for sure without you. I wish I had contacted you for a solution and lesson on how to use Prime last night...even though I had no issues prior to this. I must have had heat stroke or something. LOL

I had that same issue last week with Prime and posted about it in the other thread. For me, as soon as the "live" broadcast was over I could watch the replay. I had my wife keep checking so I wouldn't know who won. I thought for sure we watched one of the first races on Prime by starting it delayed. Apparently it is hit and miss for their football broadcasts as well.

Oh and PS - Simple Google Search:

AI Overview

Issues with Prime Video's rewind/replay feature for the NASCAR Pocono race have been reported, particularly with the 2025 event
. These issues seem to be temporary glitches on Prime's end that are fixed later on.
Specific Issues Reported:
  • Replay missing the race: Some users reported that the full race replay only showed the pre-race and cut off before the race started.
  • Rewind/Fast Forward not working: While Prime Video states that they generally offer rewind, pause, and fast-forward functionality for live events, some users have encountered issues where these features are unavailable, according to Amazon.com.
  • Late replay availability: The race replay may not be available immediately after the live broadcast ends, potentially causing frustration for those who miss the live event.
  • "Start from the beginning" option missing: Some users noted they couldn't start the race from the beginning if they joined the live stream late.

The car has been beaten to death....it is a quasi-spec car designed to save money. As such, it will bring the field closer together. As such, it will be hard to pass because everybody is going the same speed. As such, some will perceive this to be ****** racing. As such, I will argue that it is fascinating that while the field is closer together, the same drivers--elite drivers--battle for the spoils. They are pretty damn talented. The car is fine. The competition is extreme. The engineering is brilliant. So good. If Chasey is struggling, maybe he needs to get his ass in the sim. I don't think there is one in Atlanta, but I could be wrong. The format also has been beaten to death, but I couldn't care less because I will watch whatever the disgruntled cook up. Have at it.
