Cup RACE thread --- Talladega, Rd. 2

That’s a hard hit for the 88. About 15 years ago that would have been a rough ending

Larson's and Bowman's cars are destroyed. Good thing Larson won last week so this won't effect his playoffs.

This though is last thing Chase needed. He may have to win at Kansas in order to advance.

Chase is still on the lead lap and it looks like the car is still running fast enough to meet minimum speed. All he needs to do is limp around and he’ll outlast a lot of others

It looks like it was mostly Chevy's involved in that one, a bit of karma there.
Honestly I'm a Jimmie guy now, but this is karma for the way they were all racing. 48 was doing everything he could to ensure his teammates held the lead, 88 was doing everything he could to stay 1/2. Chase was doing whatever he wanted, Byron was behind all of them.

It's Karma for trying to run a race like this. Too many moving pieces and it puts the whole team in jeopardy of losing points...

Karma for the Chevy's.

Way to go Chase for stacking up the field and wtg Bowman for taking out all the chevys lol

We get it guy, you ****** hate Chase Elliott. Good grief. At least he's out here racing and doing whatever he needs to do for himself and his playoffs.

I hope that's right.

You spelled Bowman wrong
That was about the full opposite lock moment he had.

I'm curious as to why Bowman didn't just spin in the in-field at that point. Turning back onto the track like that is a no-no and when a line has momentum like that its useless to try to block... Logano is not going to let up.

the common short answer is called plate racing.

“Damaged Vehicle Policy”

This is modern NASCAR.
In their defense it does keep barely meeting minimum speed junked cars that are fifty laps down off the track, seemed there was always a few of them every plate race before the new rule

Honestly I'm glad all the Hendrick cars wrecked lol it's karma

Don't take it personal. Good grief. I don't hate Chase at all, or any of them. Roval was awesome.

What I do hate is team ordered racing, and an organization doing everything they can at Talladega to ensure that teammates get points. This is the result.

He did go inside. But off the banking on the flat he couldn't hold it down

At that speed and at that angle he was going to end up back on the track no matter what.
Right, I totally forget about physics in this case with the amount of speed Bowman was going. That angle is something else as well.

JJ with the "Good job kid." pat as he walked by.lol

That was entirely on Bowman... Logano had too much momentum for a block like that to even work, and Bowman tried to be a hero, and blocked anyway
