Lower downforce. The cars are still on the damn ground.
Just look at the gen 4, they look like late models in comparison

Texas just got repaved. They forget from one week to the next about the car like a bird that wakes up in a new world every morning. Texas is a one lane track, Auto Club isn't uh duhhhh

I think the worst case of this though is Ashley Judd. The camera wouldn't leave her if Dario Franchitti was in a position to win.
Is OD Steve gonna get #MadOnline about air gun narratives again?
Can someone explain how Harvick wasn't given a penalty for what happened with his tire? It clearly rolls out of his pit box without anyone controlling it (the crew member was more than an arms length away from it).

NEWS --> NASCAR says it should have called an uncontrolled tire penalty on Kevin Harvick. Scott Miller: "It was a judgement call, and after conducting a post-race review of the incident an uncontrolled tire penalty for the 4 car would have been correct. We missed that call.”

This time he's going to have to contend with more than Twitter / Reddit pundits.
SHR is griping also...helps to have an owner that makes some of the worlds best machinery to make them.JGR also benefited the most from developing their own guns. No surprise they're peeved over this.
ah I have two bones to pick with Nascar, their tire rule, and the splitter. As long as the tire(s) don't impair anybody else's pit operation or pathway, getting them back to the wall is fine. With the reduction in pit crew members it looks like a bunch of amateur jugglers handling the tires. The other, the splitter?, it isn't needed.
The teams asked for the reduction in personnel to cut cost.
That tire rolled out of the box and into pit road. The speed limit is 55 mph. If that pit crewman had been struck by that car that drives by in the clip I posted he would have been killed. It is a safety issue. That's the reason for the rule.
Also could be said that the rolling tire would have been in control if there was another set of eyes/hands in the box.The teams asked for the reduction in personnel to cut cost.

For sure, get a pass thru penalty late in the race and your difference in prize money would pay the extra man's salary for a year, or go along way towards doing it.I never thought one less pit crew man was a good idea, does it really save that much? What's the cost reward?
That battle at the end was very tense. One slip-up by #18 and the #4 would've been right there. Busch didn't make any mistakes and deserved the win. This wasn't a case of a significantly faster car stuck behind a slower one. Save the bellyaching about the cars for when it's actually relevant.
Kyle handed the bully his ass ........ end of story
The fascinating thing about Kyle's drive was that he found maybe .05 of a second on entry into 1. This gave him just enough to hold off Harvick because Kyle was better in 3 and 4. That .05-.10 of a second he found there was all driver. He never had to beat Harvick into 1...he just had to get a touch better, and he knew it. Just fabulous stuff. I think that 18 driver might have a future in this sport.
