Cup RACE thread ---- Texas, Rd. 1

Kyle had a win coming..but good lord, Samantha makes it look like the WWE. Having to always get the trophy wife's reaction on camera is kind of cringy.

Just like the Monster girls

Best cookie cutter race I've seen in a while. Never knew who was gonna win for sure till the end, plenty of action to keep it exciting and bubba got a top 10.

Kevin Harvick telling it how it is on pit road.

Chase needs to take a hint.

Even footing and Kyle won by outdriving Harvick on the restart.

Of course, he won because you can't do sh!t in the Gen-6 car.

I've said it before, cup racing has been very different since the gen 6 was introduced in what, 2012?

Kyle and Kevin could have had a much more close, and physical race.

Arent we getting gen 7 in 2019?

I caught the last bit of the race on the live leaderboard.

I'll have to watch it later, it seems like I missed a ton.

The Car of Tomorrow produced much better racing than this. It still had that stupid moronic ass splitter though.

Kyle just out executed Kevin, which happens with Kevin in these sort of races. He'll overdrive one or two corners. He did it twice trying to run down the 48 after dominating, two races and he did the same thing with KB at Indy in 2015.

I've noticed that Kevin has seemed to overdrive his car and loose about half a second if he's not gaining more than a tenth or so towards the end of the race.

Was still the most exciting part of the race though. That's some of the finer driving I've seen by KB. Seemed more interested in hitting his marks than trying to gap Kevin. Consistency and executution which kinda goes against his MO. I approve. Well done Kyle.

Just tell your wife to stop it

To be fair, Harvick rebounded from those two "mistakes". You just can't close in and execute the pass unless it's a restart or on old worn out tires.

Yeah sure, Harvick for one passed the field twice

In his defense, those were cars Harvick had 0.2-0.3 on. Harvick had about 0.5-0.1 on KB. Kyle still would have out driven him in that situation but I cant help but think if this played out in the gen 4, they would have been side by side a few times, or been running different grooves.

you must missed when the camera did the same for Kim Burton in the 90s and early 00s whenever Jeff had the lead near the end.

Kim has a ton of passion and it's entertaining as hell to watch her. Dover last year, watching Kim on the pit box was more entertaining than the race, and the race was damn entertaining.

They put the camera on Samantha because she's hot.

Hell yeah Rowdy!! Every time I don’t attend TMS he wins lol. Atta boy to Jamie Mac in 3rd, EJ in 4th, and bubba in 8th

Well, 48 did it to Brad Kes who lead 300+ laps here in 2015 and was a bit faster, so you can do it. But you need the speed, and the clear handling advantage which he must have had. Harvick didnt really rebound here though as he went from 3 tenths back, to 8 tenths back, to 3 tenths. He never really caught Kyle, despite being a bit faster.

I think he was just beat.

you can pass with this car how do you think Kevin was able to get back to the front after all those mistakes from the pit crew.
A number of them started om the rear, Stenhouse, Byron for a couple and they were up at the front. This car stuff is B.S.

Gen-4 we would've have a photofinish, or those two would've roughed each other up. I think Kyle's the most talented driver ever but there was no "out-driving" there. Kyle had lane choice on the restart and clean air and that's all that mattered. All he had to do was just not make a mistake. Harvick had to reel him in and try something different when his charge stalled out at four-tenths of a second which is the norm with the Gen-6 car.

My declining interest can be linked directly to the Gen-6 car.

They forget from one week to the next about the car like a bird that wakes up in a new world every morning. Texas is a one lane track, Auto Club isn't uh duhhhh

That battle at the end was very tense. One slip-up by #18 and the #4 would've been right there. Busch didn't make any mistakes and deserved the win. This wasn't a case of a significantly faster car stuck behind a slower one. Save the bellyaching about the cars for when it's actually relevant.

Kyle bush wins we start talking bout how the bad the cars are lol.. Kevin Harvick wins a couple in a row he a god in here haha.. man y’all really hate this dude don’t y’all.. it’s so sickening to see the hate for him.. just give the guy his props omg! He outdrove Harvick just how y’all claim truex outdrove him in the championship

Lower downforce. The cars are still on the damn ground.
Its not about getting them off the ground. The teams understand coil binding and will still seal the cars off no matter the package.

The issue is sideforce and how shaped the side panels of the gen-6 car is. Until we have a re-design, the problem will persist.
