If anyone told me at the start of the season that Byron would win at least 6 races, I would've been very skeptical. I certainly didn't see this coming.

Opportunistic is another word.
Can’t fault the guy for putting himself into position every time these things devolve into restart fests. The fastest car wins these races maybe 40% of the time anymore. Survive, strategize, maximize restarts.
