Cup Race thread - Watkins Glen.

Gordon said it best in that interview. NASCAR will throw a caution out for a piece of tape or water bottle on the track but they wont throw one with oil on the track....

19th place for Tony...I wonder if he spun in the oil too...I thought he was moving towards about 12th late.

Oh well....on the positive side...A 5th for Smornish!!

Gordon no in chase now.
If his gonna make that great Stewartie late run, he is needs to get faster.

Wild Card chase (out of top 10 with a win)
P12 Newman
P13 Kyle B
P14 Gordon

Only drivers counted with a W

To be fair though...even the drivers said they couldn't see it...it must have aerosoled somehow.

That's what I thought, but everyone is talking about the oil. I hope Kyle doesn't think Kez is the only one who shouldn't slip in oil, but he was blocking. Either way, he earned the turn.

Kyle was dead blocking. he earned the punt for sure.

yup.

Kez & Marcos bulldozing the chicane and drifting the rest of the lap was enteraining!

Interestingly...on the replay of the final part of the last lap...it looked like when Brad bumped Ambrose way wide across the rumble strip it enabled him to get better traction on a non-oiled spot and he got enough traction to stay in front. Kinda like going high at Eldora :D

Maybe they ought to slick up the track more often on the last lap. That was an exciting finish.

Brad better not cry when Kyle pays him back. But he will. Maybe he'll even do something classy and mature like call him an "ass" at Bristol.

Did NASCAR know there was oil on the track? Junyer and Jeff are whining because they crashed and Jimmie is their teammate.

Hey FB, Bad Brad had two deuces, one yesterday and one today, coincidence, I dont think so, black helicopters abound. :D

Ricky Craven made a good point on the post-race. When you are the leader you are the first car to get to the oily spots on the track.

Of course if the oil trail isn't visible it doesn't matter that much I guess.

I'm not a fan of either Busch or Keselowski but I know what I seen in the video of that final lap. Everyone else will see things the way they decide to see them as well.

Like Ambrose said, Kyle got in some oil, as did everyone. It's not going to be good for Brad in the Chase when Kyle has nothing to lose and remembers Watkins Glen. :D

Oil or not I'm betting Kyle only cares he got turned while leading. Nothing else matters to him and I wouldn't be surprised if Kez goes around next time Kyle gets on his bumper.

The thing is, Kyle does it blatantly and makes it look blatant. He'll be parked for sure if he does it.

Since Kyle declined an interview I don't think we should make any assumptions as to what he is thinking.
If he has said anything please enlighten me.

Its like he has blinders on and dont care at the time how it looks and just takes out whoever he thinks wronged him or is in the way of his highness. :D

Why should Kyle "pay him back" That was totally Kyles fault.Shouldn't have been blocking.

Only a mindless ninny would think that driving off the track, then driving into Brads front end was a smart move. If the dummy Kyle knows there is oil on the track, how the hell did he think Brad could hit the brakes and stop in time? Even without the oil, Kyle knows it's the last lap and you can't chop someones front end, especially when you drive back on the track to do it.

Kyle drove a great race, Brad K was fortunate to get two well timed cautions that kept him in great track position.

Kyle pulled off a great restart that negated those two breaks that Brad enjoyed. He appeared on his way to getting a 2nd win, which was huge toward getting a wild card spot.

I can't fault Brad for hitting Kyle on the last lap, a no fault deal with two wanting the same spot, things just happen. But I can't see anyone faulting Kyle for not talking after the race , it was a smart choice.

Brad had the best fortunes with the timing of caution, and then pushed Marcos out of the way into the bus stop, I don't see how Brad supporters can snark Kyle's effort today.

Huh? What I saw was a great, no contact move. Brad swung it sideways and got Ambrose as clean as you can. The first contact I remember is Ambrose knocking Brad out of the way at the top of the carousel. Then Bran got into Marcos at the end of the short chute and sent him wide, right out of the oil and to the win.
