Cup Race thread - Watkins Glen.

Huh? What I saw was a great, no contact move. Brad swung it sideways and got Ambrose as clean as you can. The first contact I remember is Ambrose knocking Brad out of the way at the top of the carousel. Then Bran got into Marcos at the end of the short chute and sent him wide, right out of the oil and to the win.

Lol our opinions are like your smoking hot wife, it's in the eye of the beholder

It wasn't an opinion. Watch the video. No contact at all on that pass. Marcos does swing out hard, but he said he just lost it. Brad drives it sideways right under Marcos. Great move.

Brad apologized to Kyle on Twitter because he knows Kyle owes him one. Since Brad may have just taken Kyle out of the Chase it would be fitting if Kyle ruins Brad's Chase. Put him in the wall at NHIS pethaps?

The one thing I wish I had is a fairly full field view of the last lap. More than one driver interviewed said words to the effect: "everybody was either sliding sideways or spinning on the last lap due to the oiled up track". I wonder how bad it really was throughout the field.

I see what you mean and with Kyle's mentality it wouldn't shock me. He gave up a healthy lead and was slipping and a sliding pretty bad. Think both he and Brad forced the issue there but Kyle wouldn't have given Brad an inch that situation. Either way as soon as the 9 & 2 got there, it was over for Kyle IMO.

Kyle just couldn't handle the oil. Where's all the talent I keep hearing about? :p

Being a KyBu fan...McKayla was not impressed with Nascar's decision...

I don't know if it's been said and lost in the turmOIL or not but Hornish had a good, smart run yesterday so congrats to him. He may want to keep it up if he has plans on driving the #22 in 2013.

Also, Clint Bowyer seems to becoming a good road racer.

Ride along with Ambrose for the final 2 laps. DirecTV's HotPass Ambrose Channel.

Marcos just throttled up and rammed Kez at the top of the carousel. He's lucky that wasn't most other drivers, who would have turned Marcos for that move. Brad kept his cool and ran Marcos wide into the turn. Marcos said his experience with oiled tracks told him he needed to stay out of the racing line, and it sure worked like a charm.

Brad seemed very cool, calm and collected after the race and I thought handled the situation real well. Those two put on a great show IMO.

Brad had a smile like he had won. The guy likes good hard racing, even if he comes out on the short end. His "it all evens out over time" attitude serves him well, but that's 2 for Marcos.

Replay the last 2 laps from last year and this. The same 3 players put on one hell of a show. I feel for Kyle, believe it or not, because he drove on hell of a race. He was burning his front tires for 10 laps, but somehow stayed out front. Maybe that's why the oil affected him so much more than Brad and Marcos. Kyle lost a ton of time before we saw much affect on the other 2.

That was Brads 3rd cup race at WGI. Pretty damn amazing to be going toe to toe with Ambrose like that.

Both equally impressive IMO.

I sure wish the King could show Ambrose how to turn left better. He seems to be a very likeable guy. I'd like to see him visit VL on something other than a road course.

I'm not sure he ever gets an Oval win with RPM. Has RPM ever won on an Oval?

Atlanta 2009, Kasey Kahne.

1 oval win, and they had Kasey for how many years? That says it all right there. Ambrose would be smart to try and get with Roush or Penske. I wonder how much longer he can stand having his family halfway around the world while he races.

Sorry I'm so late to the show but we didn't get the race live in Canada so I just watched it on speed. Did anyone one give a thumbs up to Hornish? Great finish for him. Oh and the race? An 8, the finish? 15!!! I just love watching stock cars on road courses!

I though the aggressive driving near the end is what made that race. No one near the front worrying about points :D
