This can be the pre race AND the race thread if that's cool with everyone. That way someone won't have to make another thread come Sunday.

ahhh five of the last 7 have been won by JJ..driving a Chevy..big reason I think why there is all the whine about Indianapolis. Oh they will say different..it's the track, bad for spectators..and they aren't spectatorso_O But Johnson is killing em at that track, throw in Manard? are there any Manard fans? Nah, not many. I will be watching every lap fer sure.

Chevy has won 10 straight brickyards. That's what ya call domination.
And 14 of 19. I used to call the place "Impalapolis", but I guess I can't do that this year with the SS. IMS is the only track on the Sprint Cup schedule where a Toyota has never won, hopefully that changes on Sunday ;)

Agreed.

One thread for all race activities should be enough.

Anyhow, not much to take from this first practice.

The #48 team has "walls" up around the car. What's Chad trying to hide?:D

If I were Stewart, after practice, I would be riding around the track with a red and yellow permanent marker and a tape measure. About every 300 feet I would make a small mark by the outside wall. I would take the tape and measure down from the wall each time. Then I would stand back with my hands on my hips and shake my head yes.

LOL, I was thinking the exact same thing when they showed Chad's partitions in the garage, with the SPEED camera guy standing there shooting everything going on.

Reminds me of F1 teams on the grid when Ferrari has the pit guys standing around the back of the cars so nobody can see what they did to the gearbox.

I saw an interview with Kez during practice earlier today and the team next to him also had partitions up in the garage but I thought that was JPM's garage next to him. They were joking about how they should put Miller Lite decals on the partitions. Was that JJ's garage that had the partitions up?

Indy is cool and all , that lasted for me maybe 3 years, now it is a snooze fest. I'd like to see both Cup and NW at IRP or whatever it is called now. And screw adding more seats to the place (IRP), Nascar doesn't belong on the famed 2.5, never did, and never will.

BK is next to Jimmie... champions garage stall is first then it goes by points standings.

Maybe JJ just has an awesome paint scheme and he wants it to be a surprise.

It's been 20 years. Get over it.

bunch were saying Austin wasn't ready for cup..hmm where is that plate of crow?:)
Uhhh, Aside from a truck race on dirt, what did he win? Impressive win, but certainly doesn't automatically qualify him as ready for Cup.

missed the point ..again. He is IN cup..this is his 10th race. The boo bears like yourself are still stuck on various opinions..hasn't won enough..too young, papa's money, blah blah infinity. But there he is in the field ..again.

So.....because he's in the race he's the next best thing now? OK, whatever:confused: I guess that means there are 42 other next best things.

Listen to that crowd! Newman's like.. "So you still wanna get rid of me!?"

Danica's 30 somethingth btw. Great day for SHR

..you missed the topic..once again, I will type slow so you can grasp it, he is already in cup, racing at cup level. The topic was that many..you included I guess, think he is not ready for cup. He is already in cup, just out qualified the two designated rookies. this is his tenth race this year, so he has raced too many races if he goes full time. I think it is 8 or more and you are disqualified to run for rookie of the year. Might be wrong on that, but anyway moot point if he is ready or not IMO.
