Newman has done this his whole career if you have been around a while. He doesn't back it up with a good finish..so don't get all teary eyed because he is sitting on the pole.

that knucklehard cost me a ton of money back in the day. He would pole it, and then finish tenth or whatever. Rocket Man wasn't finish man. Glad for him though, he has had a good week at Eldora and now Indy.

I must have missed a lot of that reading, what can people possibly be beating on him about? Most talented driver to lose his ride since KuBu, and this time, dollars are involved and not attitude..

I'm not saying that everyone was knocking the guy but his driving style and attitude was somewhat scrutinized.
 
Hell I dished him, and I am still dishing him.:) first pole in forever..Tony is saying..why didn't ya do that last year or the year before?:)
 
That was cool to see Newman grab the pole and IMS track record at home like that. I haven't seen a qualifying crowd so excited in a long time.

It really doesn't matter who starts them. I only started creating those pre-race race threads on Wednesdays to try to get people that wanted to a place to talk about the upcoming week's race. There's only so many ways that you can dissect the previous weeks race and things started to get stale around midweek.

He's part time... which just shows that even Pop Pop knows hes not ready. Gotta have some starts under ur belt before u go full time....

I remember walking around the track on race day with Pop Pop (Richard Childress, Austin’s grandfather) and fans were dangling clipboards over the fence from fishing lines, asking for autographs.

Even as a little kid, I realized that NASCAR had some pretty intense fans. But, heck, I thought it was really cool! I remember Pop Pop turning to me and saying, “One day, you’re going to be doing this.”

dude, you and your sliced bread are probably the reason we have all this B.S. about ready or not ready for cup in the first place. that was what they were saying about Joey when he came up and fell on his ass. With Lil Danny..the excuse for her is either the track or the car. Nobody has said a thing about ready or not when Austin Dillion is running in cup. Of course he isn't a girl, or the greatest thing since sliced bread, but he is already running in cup races, has an 11th place high finish, he is running cup at Indy, besides his full time ride in N'wide. Look for him real soon running full time is all I am saying. Boo bears saying he is not ready..somebody thinks he is, or he wouldn't be racing in cup right now.

Yeah so Austin can thank Joey.. lol.. not sure what ur point is bringin Joey into it... pretty sure everyone knows that.. however I still dont think Austin is quite ready... but I dont think Stenhouse is either... I can see Austin and Stenhouse both having similar first few seasons to Joey's... just bc theyre not ready doesnt mean they arent going... but clearly the part time cup schedule is to prepare the guys looking at coming up to cup.. Yeah sure Joey came in too early and it was no good... but the experience level he's at is above where anyone has ever been at that age. Which I think will end up being his strong suit soon enough.

It's a defense mechanism. Trolls want attention. He encouraged us to put him on his ignore list. He thinks he's making compelling arguments for Logano and when criticized, he puts up the "just trolling lol" defense. Idea was probably subconsciously planted by Johali when he told bread crumbs that he was "getting a lot of bites today". That's when he started this whole "just trolling lol" theme.

Well.. thats not entirely true.. I have participated in several intelligent conversations. I Prefer to actually. However if I can get some of you going then why not? You guys are all so sensitive lol. I came in this forum under attack just for being a Joey fan. So I just go with it. You guys wana trash him. I'll give you a reason to.. Most of the time I'm just talking about my driver like any other fan would. Its the reactions I get that cause me to act the way I do. As long as I keep getting the reactions, I'll keep doing it. Look up at this thread even.. all I did was put up a "Newman" thing and say I just figured out how to do that so I will more often.. and then I'm under attack.. and now this whole thread is veering away from the topic and toward me and how Im a troll or whatever.. and now I know that for the next couple hours I'll not have to be bored waiting for the race. I can just come argue with you guys for a bit.. lol

Ur half right.. Johali helped... when I first came in here I was serious about it all.. but after gettin all the negativity from you guys I realized there's no point in cheering for my driver and expecting anything less. So I do it just to make conversation when theres not much going on in here..
