Danica Patrick Shouldn't Move Up To NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Next Year

Is Miss Thang ready for CUP?
NO.
Will a 98 pound 5 foot nuthin' human being ever be ready for CUP?
NO.

In all seriousness, wheeling those Indy cars (no power steering, higher g-forces) takes way more strength and stamina than wheeling a power steering equipped Cup car.

Power steering. It's all about the amount of force needed to turn the wheel. A tractor trailer with power steering requires less strength to turn than a Chevette with manual steering. Also more speed in the corners equates to more g-forces. just look at the necks of the guys who drive F1 cars.

Give it up Matt.:D

1/3 the car weight, smaller tires, shorter races should make Indycars a much easier drive. Cup cars don't have anything near the level of consumer power assist, let alone tractor trailers.

INDY Cars and F1 Cars are quite different animals. And yeah, Louis Hamilton is a dead ringer for Ryan Newman...

I would think the G forces are tougher in Indy, due to higher speeds and greater or more rapid stopping power. I am not so sure about the steering, I just don't enough to measure the two. I do think more endurance is needed in cup.
For the size of the tires I would think an Indy cars steering in terms of strength needed isn't to tough. It probably takes more strength to handle the wheel in the pits or a low speed hairpin.

Personallys I don't like drivers assist tools. Cup ran for almost 40 years before Bodine started using PS.

lol
I should know better than to even attempt such things around here. People not understanding power steering pretty much says it all.:D
Your words , not mine . Maybe you were thinking this was the Geoff Bodine fan site ?

lol

People understand power steering but a vehicle designed without PS is different from a vehicle in which the PS isn't operating. Anyone who has ever driven a small, light vehicle w/o PS knows the difference.

Of course the extreme downforce adds to the weight of an Indy car but lack of power steering is much less noticeable at high speed.

Yay, someone who understands.

Spot on, there must be guide somewhere because it happens to many often.

1 Tag Danica critics as haters.
2. Then try to make them look unintelligent.
3. Then declare that you know the most.

Net goal: Bully and police opposing thinkers into being quite. To demagogue.

I had to look that up. Danica is a rabble-rouser? ;)

I posted a smiley :Dgrin to indicate a less than serious response. Did it not show up on the board? I can see it on my phone.

But either way, I'm done giving a rats ass what people think of what I post. It's not like any of this matters on real life.:)

One of the problems with internet communication is that there is no sarcasm font and no real way to interpret the true meaning of a post. If your little :D was supposed to mean that you were just kidding then I apologize for calling you a condescending POS.

I still disagree with your premise, however... :D:D:D:D:D

No biggie either way. I accidently deleted the post that you quoted while trying to edit it. As far as being called a POS on a message board? It's basically an indication of how the internet tends to hamper rational discussion.

Soon I'll be bored of this place and continue to post less and less. Some will be glad and most won't care.

Just to throw a little more fuel out there. Danica Patrick: '50-50' that she'll run Indy 500 next year. When asked about her chances of running the 500 next year she said, "Fair chance," she said. "I'll say 50-50. We're working on it."

Full story here.

I fear she will be ruined as a driver before all this nonsense is over.

Well if she decides to do the double then I hope she does well. As a fan, I think she should stay one more season in Nationwide, but she didn't ask me lol :p

It used to be much easier for drivers to run both races. But Tony Effen George decided that he didn't like the fact that attention was taken away from "his" race and given to NASCAR drivers, so he changed the start time in order to make doing the double impossible.

Just one more reason to hate Tony EFFEN George...

But Miss Thang could run her Nationwide Series Race and still run INDY. Not likely to happen if she moves to CUP full time.

BTW, Welcome, RR!
