I still think that 36 CUP Races in a season will kick her scrawny - but cute - little azz.

I think she has room for improvement, she definetly showed she could hang with the big boys on the last road course race, I think that impressed me more than anything this year. Running a full season in Cup next year might not be a wise decision, but I look at what JJ did in Busch when he was younger and that wasn't too impressive, then he goes to Cup and tares it up. I know that is probably the exception, but if she teams up with the right CC she might do really well. Either way I wish her good luck, I can't help but hope she gets a win soon, I think it would be great for the sport, great for women that race, and most likely help Nascar a ton in the ratings department. Her fiery attitude is awesome, now if she can just translate that to being a little more aggressive on the track, I think it will giver her more confidence and better results...rock on Danica!

In rereading that 36 cup statement I may have to rethink my position. Danica with a 36 cup definitely has me rethinking this whole situation. ;) Especially after Matthew talked about how good of shape she's in. I'm just saying.

No doubt. And I am NOT a hater! I like the girl and I hope she does well! But I am a realist and I have heard drivers talk of losing 7 to 10 pounds during a race. 10 pounds is 10% of Danica's body weight.

Yeah I know it's just water and I understand that drivers now have air conditioning and power steering, but still...

Dale Jr manages and that dude doesn't work out, drinks like a fish and eats junk food.

Tony Stewart manages just fine (other than the time he sh*t his pants at Watkins Glen) and he eats Whoppers and drinks Coke on the regular.

I expect her to be as serious as she was during the IRL days and when she posed for the Sports illustrated swimsuit issue. Now that she's going to cup a new photo shoot is expected in support of the racing fantasy leagues.


I think she's going to top 30 performer, and make the top 30 in points.

She really needs to give up the idea of running the Indy 500 next year.If she really wants to focus on a NASCAR Career.

I was fun listening to her on the webcast. Someone asked her how does it feel having a chance to be the first NW driver to win at Indy, because she has so much experience on the track in Indycar. She got a little terse and pointed out she's had a few chances to win at the brickyard in Indycar, so it's nothing new to her. o_O

Or, maybe she's missing the Indy 500 more? Personally I think her racing both would be a win win for both series. It's one race and maximum exposure for both sports. Let's face it, do you really think that her running the double is going to affect her championship hopes in CUP? ;)

I'm 50/50 on her running the Indy 500. She's having a hard time adjusting to the different feel, which is something she talked about, and I think she'll just be setting herself up for failure in both.

I think it will hurt her progress in learning a Cup car.Plus it will bring back all the speculation and start rumors that she is thinking about running indy cars again.Which if she is serious about her Cup career those kinds of stories floating will be a distraction.
 
Her running the Indy 500 one last time won't hurt a thing. Its not like she'll be fighting for a Chase spot next year.

And I have seen no one with even half a brain speculate that she wants to return to open wheel any time soon.

Its her life and career and she should just do whatever the hell she feels like doing.

I'm sure if she flunks out of Nascar, open wheel will have no problem taking her back.

Personally, I think it's still to early to tell if she's not ready to go full time in cup.
