I hope it cools down by Sunday. To say it is hot here in SC is an understatement, 96 here in Charleston with pure sunshine

I cant believe it was just today that a pre race thread for the Great Southern Tradition, The Southern 500 was made! This is my absolute favorite race on the calendar. So much prestige, tradition and honor come with winning this race. I love the history behind this race and alll the Champions or HOF'ers that have won it.

Times are changing. Get onboard or get left behind.

Not sure what your comment is referencing or what it’s supposed to be about but CB was a phenomenal actor and a positive influence on millions of people and taken by an abhorrent sickness. Furthermore he was a SC native and they are racing at Darlington. Great tribute.

Colon cancer, same as John Andretti. If you're over 50, get over yourself and get a colonoscopy. If you have insurance, it's likely covered. Yeah, you'll have to sit on the can for a few hours the night before, but you're asleep for the procedure itself and there are no ill effects afterward. Just frickin' do it.

Buddy works for water treatment plant at Myrtle Beach. He did 7 years in Iraq & Afghanistan. Said it's been almost that bad. I told him 75 degrees here in Raleigh NC.

I’m kinda hoping darlington is kind to the Cup rookies this year...

At times in the past Rookies have had some surprisingly strong showings/races when they go to the lady in Black their first couple times

here’s to hoping Bell can have a great race this weekend:cheers:

If you have to educate fans on how your “playoffs” system works, your system sucks. FWIW, why would they choose celebs? Should have gone with the top 5 drivers in the points.

Why would they choose celebs? My FWIW would be because they aren't targeting old fans (long time) with it. It's for a different demographic.

In that case, why not just use the younger Cup drivers instead of celebs that aren't known to be associated with racing ?

I can assure you that NASCAR’s key younger demographic don’t give a rats ass about ivory tower celebs. But NASCAR is desperate to attract the tiktok teens. Thats not the demo that wants to chill on a Sunday afternoon with a cold beer and wings.

First they'll have to educate me on who Mario Lopez is. Does he already know which end of the wrench goes in the window, is he learning as he goes, or is he just cashing a check?
