Daytona 500 Pole Qualifying

It sucks that Mark Martin's driving for that ****** organization now.

I'm not so sure about that. It's pretty amazing what Mikey has accomplished while so many start up teams have shrunk or closed. The economy hurt everyone, but the bigger teams were able to weathered the storm better.

...and the wind miraculously shifts to a tail wind on the back stretch and Trevor wins the pole.

Mikey was smart to bring in a business partner, I think that helped him tremendously, but in the same breath being an owner might of cost him his marriage.

I heard that the guy controlling the money is a huge part of their success.

I always thought Mikey's bent wrist and lisp ended things with Buffy. ;)

Not looking too good for Elliot, man Chase looks just like him. Pretty cool that they are going to have the K&N Pro and the Whelen Mods at Daytona next year. Setting up a 4/10 Mile track on the backstretch for next year they just said.

Chase is mature well beyond his years. It will be exciting to see what he can do in 2 years.

Chase is the next Joey Logano.

Except he has a different Father and he'll be working his way up from JRM to HMS. I really feel Joey was raised sheltered and rushed into the real world. When he broke free of Mommy and Daddy, he got distracted by all the fun he was having being free. He was 20, and his Mother was on TV saying she's not ready to let him live on his own. WTF?

Joe seems different this year, but he needs to win fast.

Ahhhhhh Brotherly love Micheal with DW's pictures on his helmet.

Since DW tossed Hammond to make room for Mikey in the Hollywood Hotel, the nut hugging has reached an all time high. Wasn't the Hollywood Hotel named for Hammond?

Chase is an A-HOLE. At Loudon last fall,he got into an argument during a autograph session with me about the Thanksgiving weekend race in 2001 when Robby Gordon got his first win(.Race moved due to 911).He swore that Jeff Gordon won,and I informed him that Jeff had the pole due to NASCAR setting the field for that race, and he told me to get my facts straight. I politely told him I was there, 'cause I remember freezing my azz off that weekend, and that he was so young at that time, mommy was still wiping his snot nose for him. Someone finally convinced him that I was right, but he was still a snotty brat. No respect at all. And the next day during the K&N race, after he got collected in a wreck,I smiled and knew I would rember where I was when that happened.
Go get 'em Chase.........................

Except Chase is a better wheel man than Joey.

I think he is going to do much better than Logano, he's more talented for one thing and he's got Bill as his dad. Two positive things going for him.

Chase has money behind him. He hasn't done anything in the K&N Series, where he's still at a huge financial advantage.

Looks like the Cheshire Cat in da Hat is gonna be smilin tonight!! :D:D

Danica qualified ahead of kurt Busch.................better car or better driver? :)

I just read that Bowyer failed inspection and will start in the back Thursday. Haven't found an official statement yet.

At the very end of q'ing, TV showed the team sitting by the car. The booth said that the car had "height issues" in post-q'ing inspection. Looking for more info, but haven't been able to find any.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.

The No. 15 Toyota driven by Clint Bowyer failed post-qualifying inspection at Daytona International Speedway for next Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Daytona 500.

“The 15 car did not get through post-qualifying inspection,” NASCAR spokesman Kerry Tharp said Sunday after the session. “His time has been disallowed.”
According to a Michael Waltrip Racing spokesperson, the Camry was 60/1000ths too low on the left front.
Originally, Bowyer qualified 22nd with a lap of 192.843 mph. But he will now start at the back of the second Gatorade Duel 150-qualifying race on Thursday. Bowyer will still be locked into the field for the Daytona 500 as his team is in the top 35 in owners points from 2011.
MWR vice president of competition Scott Miller said the infraction was not intentional.

“Really very surprised that we were — I don’t know if we got something stuck in the bleed hole in the shock, but the front just didn’t come back up,” Miller said. “It’s all the same stuff that we ran in practice, and it was coming back up. We’ll go over there and get to the bottom of it and see what happened.”
Although Bowyer is new to the organization, Miller didn’t expect the infraction to affect the momentum of the team.
“Not as far as the weekend goes,” Miller said. “It’s never good to be in this position right here, but as far as the 150 goes — you’re going to be to the front and to the back of that thing. Our competitiveness and our ability to go win the 150 hasn’t changed any.”
