Denny Hamlin and Corey LaJoie feud

Apparently Denny and Corey have been trading barbs at each other since the iRacing events . . . and it's been hard to tell if it was joking or not. Corey now reveals that on Friday night before Homestead, Denny texted Corey that he was going to wreck him on Sunday. Corey says Denny later texted the 32 owner and crew chief (Randy Cox I believe) and said similar threats. GOFAS then referred the matter to Steve O'Donnell at Nascar - who apparently told Denny that "pre-meditated wrecking" requires discipline if he does it.

Denny denies Corey's allegations.

With how Dennis has been in the past, I wouldn’t put it past him to actually do something like that.

Dennis is lying. What a douche maneuver to text not only the driver but the crew chief and car owner. Sounds like Dennis was hittin the sauce.
 
$hit like this is why Denny might never win a championship, I’m not sure he has it between the ears. All the talent in the world but mush for brains. He shouldn’t even be in this feud really, never should have hit this point. LaJoie is beneath him, Denny is the one with nothing to gain and everything to lose...like comeon dude you have a shot at a Championship this year, been one of the top teams since the Green at Daytona In February. Focus on that championship. I don’t even know what they are feuding about...IRacing right? Denny seems like a huge male anatomy part, I like his driving talent but always have found it impossible to cheer for him.

Theyre both insecure guys. LaJoie is self conscious enough and impulsive enough to defend himself and Feed Denny's insecure trolling.

Hasn't LaJoie spoken up about his own mental health issues? He needs to be the bigger person, stop taking it so personal and just block Denny, or broken record him until Denny tires himself out. They're both coming off as childish.

A part of me feels the whole thing is a publicity stunt between these two lol

This thing was really born out of an iRacing spat predicated upon what Corey could do on a “neutral field” of sorts? Good grief.

Corey has said dumber crap on Twitter before, but he didn’t need to say Denny would win Homestead because there was nothing on the line. Denny got screwed in the finale last year, tbf.

Threatening to wreck someone over that is some Grade A nutter stuff though.

I don't know why Denny Hamlin kept needing to take shots at Corey Lajoie though. Dude's in one of the best cars and has a shot to win every single time he unloads. What's the point of this?

I don’t think Denny has progressed beyond that mentality when it comes to younger drivers. The tweets are dumb, no question; the guy seems very insecure and that he would threaten to wreck a young driver isn’t a new development. But at least Logano and Keselowski were in good equipment and posed some sort of threat on track. If he is prone to getting into spats with anyone regardless of where they run he just seems immature.

I agree and the way he attempted to bully Logano remains as enduring thought.
And when I say bully I am thinking of the way it seems like he cherry picks the target to be someone whom he believes to be weaker.

He turned Danica too many times for it to be an accident, before that he pretty much tried to bully Logano out of the series altogether when he was at Gibbs. I'm not a huge fan of Lajoie, he is pretty mouthy, but I blow most of it off to him being new and trying to keep his name out there. On the other hand I think Denny da weasel is suffering from a swelled head, he's won a few races and he's the top man at Gibbs right now and is a legend in his own mind.

I really want to like Denny, and the fact that hes not perfect helps. Hes an monster girl affair-having-twitter-war having guy.

Also, has anyone ever thought that this "feud" was done to increase visibility on social media of both drivers?

I could figure that from Lajoie to a certain extent, but Hamlin? How is that going to work with a sponsor who are usually politically correct. I bet the preacher is having a fit.

Well Erik might not be in the JGR camp for long because in the 21 Silly Season thread they were ready to move Bell over to JGR which sounds like its at the expense of the Jones Boy. Once the good Preacher has a quite reflective moment and declares Erik family, it will be all over after that. But thats another convo for another time, onto more Denny bashing.
