I know on Dirtrackr today Shirley apparently said he didn't realize how bad the fire was until the safety crew started yelling to get out, then he got tangled up in his safety gear.
 
RTJ wins at All Tech tonight on the last lap after Devin Moran had controlled the race but had a tire going down on the last lap.

I kinda feel bad for Daulton Wilson. He finishes third after RTJ uses him up to get by, and then Max Blair does the same thing on the last lap. Maybe he's too nice.

I think it’s time to clear the air about Tuesday night.

First off, let’s stop blaming parts, lines, or products that didn’t cause the issue. The motor hurt a piston while going into the corner, and unfortunately, it went diesel. From there, flames shot out the exhaust, igniting the tire and quarter panel. The heat melted the bladder in the fuel cell, leaving fuel in an aluminum can that wasn’t fully welded, causing it to spray out the corner of the fuel cell.

So, why was the gas spraying out? Because the motor was still running, and the fuel pump runs off an oil pump on the back of the motor. The fuel system in the car has a constant flow of pressure going back and forth to the motor from the fuel cell, which couldn’t shut off while the motor was running. This meant it was feeding fuel to the fire until the motor finally blew up, shutting down the fuel pump and allowing them to put the fire out completely.

1. The owner of the fuel cell company came by today to personally inspect the cell. It did its job—the cell and the foam inside kept the fuel from exploding. He has some ideas on how to make it safer, and while the fuel cell could technically be reused, we obviously won’t be doing that. He took it with him for R&D.

2. A bunch of folks, including Steve Arpin, Longhorn Chassis, Rumley, Rick Schwallie, Steve Francis, FSE Fire Extinguisher, and drivers, have been communicating to learn from this dangerous situation. Thankfully, no one got hurt.

3. All my lines are from Brown and Miller, from fuel to oil lines (braided), and they all look brand new. None of them failed or busted; if they had, the fire would’ve spread way faster to the front of the car. Even my brake lines stayed intact.

I believe no one builds a product intending for anyone to get hurt. Racing is dangerous and not perfect, but all the right people are coming together to figure out how to prevent this from happening again. So please, let’s stop assuming or blaming innocent people. Everyone is just doing their job to make things better.

Was actually a fantastic race. That restart was epic by RTJ
 
They spent so much time reworking the track or whatever they were doing that I gave up and missed it. When they replayed earlier interviews, that's when I watched something else.
 
11:40 PM EST and running thru the line-up for feature. Not sure this one will get started tonight. Rained last night and track is horrible greasy rutted rough mess. They should have cancelled tonight's race. Just hope don't hurt anyone.
 
Moran looked the smoothest and best handling and it paid off. RTJ was fast but looked like he was going to lose it about a dozen times. A lot of guys driving the wheels off of it to get to the front.

Thornton clipped the yuke tire which folded the nose under, shot straight into the wall. OUCH! While fun to watch had to be extremely frustrating for all the drivers.

How does Davenports car not bounce like all the rest? Always comes down like a cat.
 
Feisty main event tonight at Ocala. Davenport controls the race, but a lot of action behind him. Quite a run by Drake Troutman to finish second. Impressed by how well McCreadie is running in that Boom Briggs car. I don’t know why they run these early races as non-points.
 
Overton was faster at the end, just couldn’t quite get around JD on a narrow frack.
 
Bad one in Lucas at Ocala. Legit red flag. Long commercial. Of course I was messing around with TV's and missed it and not even sure who was involved. Know Freddie Carpenter totaled a car. Ross Robinson came off the wall and Freddie hit him. Freddie pretty wobbly. No replay yet FAIK.
 
Worst thing about TCL TV in one remote controls every TV in three counties. Even my big TC, which is controlled by a Bluetooth remote got all confuzzled. Change a setting on Hisense with Roku plugged in and it changed both others too. Was like juggling chainsaws for a minute. Now have Lucas on 55" TCL, PC on 32" TCL and Peacock on Hisense with Roku.
 
Freddie's car had RH side of cage bent pretty bad. I still haven't seen a replay. May have just missed it messing around with this junk.
 
Bet some people look closely at Freddie's car. May need an added bar or two. Issue becomes, if the chassis doesn't bend, you have a Next Gen concussion maker.
 
As much as I don't like the Hulkster personally and find the four wide salute to be the most tedious sight in all of motorsports, there is an opportunity here to use his classic theme as the song for it.

Do they even do the 4 wide salute in the late models? I legitimately can't remember in large part because I watch the WoO LMs so rarely.

Oh they do. The only series that I know of that doesn't do it to the point of exhaustion at every race is the FloRacing Night in America series. Brave stand.

Ehh, it's the lap where the fans wave at the drivers. I never even thought to care.
