Being a fan of a driver like Vickers is different. Its not like being a JJ, Rowdy, Keselowski, or Kenseth fan where going into every race you have high expectations of taking the checkered. No, you just hope for a solid run and for your driver to be near the top at the end. Now that is not to say there aren't tracks where you have higher expectations for. Fontana is one where I go in with the high expectations. And you can still be very deflated after a poor run. I remember a few years ago at Phoenix when the #83 red bull car was the best by a mile, like 30 laps into it you had expectations for a W. And then Kenseth dumps him unprovoked. Atlanta, the #83 is faster than Kurt Busch and the #2 at every turn and the straight aways, he wasn't going to hold him off and a late caution comes out and bunches everyone up and completely takes away from the momentum. At Pocono where the #25 leads 70% of the laps and a duo of late cautions hands the victory to Carl Edwards. These types of instances hurt more because you can't look at it with the "get em next week" mentality.
