Does Jeff Gordon even care anymore?

I find it ironic that the year top 10s and good points days don't seem to matter, he's being very consistent in his finishes unlike previous years. Would he be in the top 3 if this were a normal chase? If he keeps racing like this a win will fall in his flavor.

Ironic? I think it's great. The racing has been excellent this year.

Ironic in a good way. In previous years jeff has gotten off to a rocky start in a points system that awards for consistency (in the regular season). Now this year he is off to a great start in a points system that seems to only award winning.

As long as he keeps it like this during the last 10, he'll be involved come Homestead.

Back in 1998 I thought to myself, Jeff Gordon's going to pass David Pearson for second alltime on the win list & he's going to surge past Sr & the King & win 8 or 9 Winston Cups. That was 1998, 16 years ago...

And we're doing the same with Jimmie.

Wonder when he'll stall out like the rest of 'em.

Age is no respecter of persons, and the clock eventually strikes midnight for every Cinderella, even a Jimmie.

Gordon fans should be happy that he made the final round. No way that he was going to study Matts run and learn the best line for the pole today.

He obviously pursued his real passion and reason for going to California., Filming another commercial, auditioning for sitcoms, dining with the Khardshians and getting his nails done. Perhaps even partaking in Brazilian services with them at the salon, whatever it takes to forget about driving.

Be sure to watch "the day that Jeff quit giving a dam" on FS1 tonight. When he was interviewed for his perspective, he was just pissed about not getting to dress like Rhett Butler. The idea of not caring about his driving just went over his head, he just wants to be a film star now.

LMAO. Your posts are genius.

Jeff ran 2nd every practice and led the 5 and 10 lap average every practice. If he cared he'd have just led those practice sessions instead of loafing around in 2nd.

Exactly, I think he intentionally ran 2nd fastest just to spite folks, and led the long runs to show that it was all intentional.

They can take a man hostage and make him race against his will. Even so his raw natural skills still can conserve tires while he leisurely drives left handed, sipping his Pepsi through a straw with the right hand stylistically, and middle finger sticking out like a pinkie. Not giving a dam in some scenarios is empowering and it does conserve the tires, you cant abuse what you dont use.

But Jeff is to casual and doesnt have the Stockholm syndromes bad enough to rough it and up and do extracurriculars like restarts.
Hence the people keeping him hostage might take the gloves off now. I expect them to take the Pepsi commercials or his telescope away from him as a punishment.

That's like asking people to stop saying mean things about Danica. Ain't gonna happen.

Good old Marty D is going to have to take it all year.

I was dying for Gordon to win today. Would have been sweet. Still, it will happen eventually.

This thread is fun and the op is above allowing himself to be upset by our childish banter. Gordon will be retired in a couple of years so we'll just have as much fun as we can.

Congratulations to JG today......outstanding performance one of the best I've seen in 20+ years..........I was especially impressed by his laps led today

He finished 12th with a 30th place car.

Get off my lawn.

Surprise Jimmie just let Kurt slide by twice. Like he doesn't even care.

LOL and people want to give him breaks. Laughable.

From the article:

A man with disparate, non-racing interests, Gordon seemingly has an endless supply of things to occupy his time once he retires, including a wife and two young children and an interest in television that has allow him to appear on "Saturday Night Live," morning chat shows and viral videos terrifying reporters.

"That can go for you or against, because some people can take that as, 'Well, you're not focused, you're not as passionate about it,'" Gordon said of broad interests. "But nothing drives me more when it comes to what I work the hardest at, what I eat, sleep and breathe, other than my family, and that's driving this car. Not the business of racing. There were times along the way when I focused way more on the business and I was still winning championships. I don't focus near as much on that as I used to. I spend way more time debriefing with the team, physical fitness, testing, than I ever have, but I want to be a good dad and a good husband, too."

I think that is a solid ending to this thread.

That was just what the people holding him hostage made him say. If he had not submitted and talked the game, they would have made sure he never evah worked in Hollywood again.
I am no longer shocked, the terrorists that are forcing him to race dont like us figuring out their heinous ways.

If you love Jeff you just need to set him free, let him go and move on to new horizons. Perhaps he could be the next Steve McQueen (if he doesn't have to drive to much, cause Jeff has done did that).

In the words of Ronnie Van Zant... If I leave her tommorow would you still remember me...I am free as a bird now..

:)

You've been waiting over a month for that run today so you could type that post. Get a grip, let it go...

He didnt use the sarcasm emoji so he obviously is impressed with Gordon's domination today and how many laps he lead. He's blind as Matt Kenseth at a plate track.

Could you imagine if it was Gordon in JJ's shoes yesterday? Everyone would say "Gordon let Kurt by him, hes just old and is okay with settling for 2nd. He's not aggressive anymore".

Can we say the JJ is content with only having 6 championships and doesnt want to tie Dale or Richard, so he's letting everyone else win?

A 12th place finish, his career is over, time to put Steve Wallace in. Then Marty can ask if Steve Wallace even cares anymore..

lol He has about 3 posts in this 6 page thread and you're telling him to let it go?

I'm telling him to let go of this troll thread. I thought he already had, and then yesterday he returned. One step forward, two steps back.

Why should he let go of this "troll thread" when no one else is letting it go?

After 6 pages of people trolling him, I don't blame him for taking a jab at the Gordon fans once more.

I personally have posted like 6 posts in this thread, and most of the conversation shifted about page two I think, idk I haven't read through it all.

Any grief he's dealt he's brought on himself. I doubt he or anyone else really gives a sh!t hough.
