Nascar by far for their JJ call when Montoya clearly spun his tires.

Honorable mention of Fox breifly mistaking Almirola for Jimmie Johnson and Joey Logano pitting right as Kenseth was blowing up (ended fine for Logano though)

Gotta go with Jimmy . He knew he was wrong and said over the radio that he should give the position back , but he just couldn't bring himself to do it .

Which makes him an even bigger bonehead, because he probably would have passed him back with ease, then pulled away while the others battled for 2nd.

The Jimmie black flag doesn't deserve the award because its one of those things that makes Jimmie haters happy and Jimmie lovers admit it was a violation even though most can understand why he jumped. Newman on the other hand was just being a jerk and it looked clear it was deliberate.
So yeah Jimmie screwed up...but Newman takes the cake!

But Ryan was just messin around , back in the pack , Jimmy had the race WON . I had him in the pool so I might be a tad biased. ;)

Haha, fair enough! Maybe NASCAR will give the win to Jimmie based on intent? Lmao!!!

I heard NASCAR is considering it when Johnson explained that he sped up to avoid a falling camera, which fell after being struck by a 2.7-gram-too-light connecting rod from an exploding Toyota. Clint Bowyer and Jeff Gordon got into a fist fight over it, causing NASCAR to throw the red flag and let the injured parties get first aid for 15 minutes only before resetting the field. Unfortuately, Johnson also went below the white line during the restart while using Twitter on his phone in the car so the win will stand as Stewart's. :(

Also, Danica Patrick hit the jet dryer, but DW quickly explained she was just learning how to drive cars for the first time.

Your imagination is awesome, my friend. Too funny!

Bottom line is this... JJ had to give the position back... he didn't = black flag..... I don't get why anyone has any issues with this lol it's simple really.

And as far as Logano pitting... LMAO what else would he do? He blew his tire and was almost wrecking. Was two laps down when the caution came out.. so I'm pretty sure he was already out of the pits or almost done service when the caution flag was thrown... when he came in the pits Kenseth had just started smoking. I remember thinking Joey said he was blowing up because as Kenseth said "I think were blowing up" it showed Joey coming down pit road and I saw smoke... what a come back though!

Clearly it should be Johnson since it cost him the win. All Johnson had to do was let Montoya pass him in the corner, then he could have kept going. He did not, thus the penalty.

The winner of the bonehead award is Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus for making the mistake of the century.
The runnerup bonehead award goes to Ryan Newman for destroying two race cars for no good reason.
Couldn't have said it better. Ill bet he was watching as Tony passed Juan just wishing he would have given the position back. He definitely had the race won and just handed it over.

Newman, if he just had to turn somebody he shoulda waited for kybu to come around and turned him, hell everybody on the track owes kybu a turn or two.

JPM for not even trying to block Tony just so we could hear the big guy whine again about getting blocked.

I was waiting for the block and hoping a wreck to get Joey a better finish lol and a post race scuffle is always fun to watch. Thought Gilliland was gona try n fight Newman at first lol guess he thought better of it. Wise choice I'd say.

Oh come now you guys. The bonehead of the race is the spring department at Toyota Racing Development this week..again. Not to be confused with the rod department that can't read a scale. Are they putting the springs in the right place, or upside down, or are they swapping the intake for the exhaust spring? We already know they don't know how to read a weight scale. Two cars that were in the top five at the time Ka-Blewy. Boneheads..

Toyota Racing Development for continuing to make unreliable engines.

Jimmie Johnson and Ryan Newman for obvious reasons already explained on here a few times.

Like Kyle Petty said on SPEED after the race, "It was Johnson's race to lose and he lost it."

You know guys, its very likely Juan intentionally spun his tires...

I 'd like to think that Juan snookered Jimmy ...I'd like to , but I'm not 100% sure he is that smart . If he did do it , that was really great.:D

I was thinking earlier about that restart and got to wondering if it's possible that Johnson's unfamiliarity with Montoya in that situation actually got him off his game. With someone like KyBu, they know what he's going to do - hammer down. He may or may not kamikaze the first turn but he's going full out on the restart. Montoya is a different story as he's very seldom restarting a race as the leader and the only car on the inside line to move, was the #48. The whole thing was very out of character for Johnson

The bonehead of the whole ordeal was definitely Chad Knaus. On the radio, Jimmie's spotter told him to give the position back, but Chad said to keep going because JPM had a problem getting started, and Jimmie always does as papa Chad says

If Juan spn his tires then why didn't the field bunch up... nope, only the 48 took off not even the ppl behind him...o_O

Yeah, look at Bowyer in 4th behind Johnson. Clint knows what's up, he didn't make a move on Montoya until the starter threw the green.
