Nascar once again proving they're cheap bastages. Simply hire more officials so there's one for each pit stall to monitor any unapproved actions under the hood when it's opened for cool down.
Naw, rather have team owners blow a few engines then have da brain part with a single dime.

Listening to some of the crew chiefs on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio they thought that the tapeless runs may have been an option but in a collective meeting yesterday with NASCAR it was determined that they would go with what was announced. Some seem to be implying that NASCAR wants the higher speeds with tape so that we can still see track records be broken. Personally, I don't care if someone sets a new track record. That's not the kind of thing that stands out in my memory of any track other than possibly Daytona or Talladega and that's because they were milestones in the sport. The fact that a track record was set last week at Vegas by Logano doesn't really stand out all that much too me.

But understand the greater unintended consequences. Are you really prepared to go through the remainder of your life with no more "IT IS A NEW TRACK RECORD!" announced by DW and Larrry Mac in perfect unison?
