Holy sheepstuff batman, we just watched 45 minutes of truck practice, been to a lot of dirt and hard track races but damn that was fun to watch. This will be no surprise but the first one to spin out was the famous John Wes Townley. :D
 
They look like little remote controlled trucks in the pictures except for the people standing near them.

That's just mine, DP has a bigger stash and we cant take beer into the track but I almost passed out when I bought one and instead of $8 it was $2. A 12 pack and cooler with ice is $20, unbelievable. And yes we have permanent smiles on our faces.

Just kidding ya, 30 years ago I might of had more but not these days.
Practice coming on here in 45 minutes( probably time delayed) and I'll be watching for you folks in turn 4.

They said on SPEED he also got in to the wall pretty hard. Zaxby's must sell a hell of a lot chicken to pay for what this guy wrecks.

damn!!! just when I thought my jealousy couldn't get any worse....

for oh so many years I've been looking for something that would make me join the jeff gordon fan brigade. I think I just saw it! Johali: if your cook is ever interested in attending another dirt race, i'd buy both of your tickets, provide the grill, and cheer for whatever #24 happened to be on track!

The speeds are slower then I was expecting, although we knew they wouldn't be close to 13's I wasn't expecting 22's. I would've loved to see NASCAR open the rule books a little bit for this race and actually have them closer to dirt cars.

Those trucks are just so heavy.
 
What exactly does the Hooters pageant have to do with Speed or sports of any kind? Might be nice on the old peepers but it seems out of place.

Also, that's spin #4 for JWT.
 
Hornaday seems pretty impressive, practicing in the top three or four. But he did log an assload of laps at Wythe leading up to this.
 
that track record was in a winged sprint car. huge difference compared to what these guys are racing. and for those of you unfamiliar with dirt tracks, moisture and track conditions have a huge impact on lap times.

looked completely dry slick for that practice. best news that I think I saw: no black stripe of rubber. hope that's what is see tomorrow night. if so, smooth throttle control will produce your winner.

I haven't read or heard whether they'll be counting cautions or what. And maybe they'll do the Delaware double-file restart. :D

I did see Larson go to the bottom in practice, I imagine he would.
 
That practice session was more fun to watch than the asphalt races. Cannot wait for wed night.

Austin, Ty, Newman and Ken Schrader worked the bottom and slide job practice quite a bit and in person it was apparent which drivers were completely lost and timid on dirt. They probably looked more powerful and faster in person than they did on TV. If you negatives don't like it then don't watch it but damn what a spectacle in person. And as a side note the Late Models put on a killer show, those boys can damn sure drive, the 20 was putting on a school splitting the line three wide until he was taken out with 4 to go by an accident in front of him. I cant wait until tomorrow.
