Lew has won this 4 of the 5 times the race has been at COTA. Vettel has the other win.
Hamilton is in such a zone right now , I think he will win again this weekend. My focus will
be on Hartley though. His press conference is this morning so hopefully a copy of the transcript or
video will be somewhere on the net in the afternoon.

Flying out at 8:30 tomorrow morning. Hope to stop by the track tomorrow afternoon. I am fuggin HYPED.
Be sure to keep us posted and let us know what its like to be you!
Where will you watch the Sun. race from? Ticketed seat or gen. adm. and just move around?

I am going to look around and see if I can find some lap times on Hartley /WEC vs. Toro Roso last year.
Just hope he keeps the nose clean this first race. I am telling you, the dude is a serious shoe.

GRRRREAT for you! :punkrocke Send us some pictures please! :booya:

I'll defo snap some pictures.

We've got GA tix... I'm gonna spend atleast Saturday hiking around looking for good viewing areas. Probably watching from the esses(I really want to watch these cars work), and then taking the bridge over to the stadium section... I'd like to watch Sunday from near T1 but from what I understand, it's a zoo and you've gotta stake your claim very early. I've heard that the general admission viewing around the whole track is pretty decent though.

Sounds good DUN24. Raceday I would probably just work the front straight from T1 back to
T20 and see if you cant make it near the podium for the champagne spray. Pack a poncho
just in case. You have a good chance of seeing a 30' rooster tail this weekend which is a
spectacle in itself.

My son in-law scheduled a work trip to Austin this week. Such a good boy ...

Next week I'll be wearing my new Williams Grand Prix Engineering chapeau.

Yeah I've kept my eye on the forecast. Looks like some weather for Friday and Saturday atleast. Seems to be clearing out on Sunday.

T1, that's the pointy left-hander at the top of the hill, right?

Okay, so I'm looking at practice. Would someone explain a couple of things to me?

What do the red S / purple U / green I indicate?
About the 'Verstappen' icon on the right side of the screen: I assume it's a driver name, but is the blue squiggle significant of anything or is it just a generic graphic? Why is this icon used sometimes and other times an icon with telemetry is used instead?

We complain a lot about NASCAR broadcasters over explaining everything, but part of my problem when I glance at F1 is that I have trouble telling what's going on beyond the big picture.

EDITED: and now there are yellow S icons too.

Red S - Supersoft tire
Yellow S - Soft tire
U - Ultrasoft tire
I - Intermediate tire (not a full wet tire)

Means they're playing Verstappen's radio communications.

I am just glad no one wadded it up during P1. If anyone finds an easy link to view
P2 on line at 3 pm edt please post. I am trying to see if NBCSN has an easy link
without all the registration yada yada.

Monaco and Austin are literally the only races / circuits on the schedule I can name.

Oh, and we 'Millennials' don't have to worry about registration with our new-fangled cable subscriptions. :D
That's awesome, its great you can have that control. I caught the F1 bug in '83 and it has never let me go!
These online registrations drive me nuts. I can never remember my sign on info or where I put it if I wrote it down.

Nice and dry for P2. Should be able to see what the new kids on the block have and
how strong the Mercs are.

It's not control as much as I haven't caught that particular bug. Plus, between NASCAR, IndyCar, and IMSA, my schedule is loaded down enough!

Lewis has set a new track record this session. There is also a wasp outbreak
in the Haas garage and the nest has yet to be found according to W.Buxton.

Lewis looks prime to win the title this weekend.

Hopefully the wheather can play a part and make it a little harder and entertaining.

Austin traffic is worse than LA. I **** you not.

Didn't get a chance to see any practice today but we did make it in time to watch the Historic F1 qualifying. God those cars are something else. The sound, smell... hnnnggggggg

Holy **** I didn't know they would be there.

:eek2:

Those looks sweet. The first one looks insane. lol

What does that over extended fin does for the car?

That's cool you get to see F1 historics. Hopefully there is a V10 or V12 out there.
They make a sound one never forgets. Thanks for the pics and update Dun24 !
