Fantasy Racing 2020 - This year, FREE.

Was doing good til near the end. Blaney having problems hurt me.

Yeah it screwed me outta a possible win in the other league. I almost put in Larson too!

Yikes, is Kyle Busch gonna be C tier?!

Im getting my butt whooped in this league
It's way, way early. I've come from that far back.

That's crazy.
That's what makes the strategy challenging. The first three races with the old points are just so veterans can knock the rust off and new players can get used to the system. The game really starts when the driver groups start changing weekly.

Look at Kyle in C this week. Are you really going to pick someone else in that bunch? That's why I said management of A isn't the key. It's managing which drivers are in each group each week, with an eye toward whether they'll move up or down. Bubba can't compete against most drivers currently in B; wait until he slides back to C to think about him. Stuff like that.

My dude, that's exactly why I held off Kyle, Harvick and Truex. It's literally a no brainer to use Kyle this week, but I can use him without worrying because it's my first use. Might use all three in fact this week, depending how Kez looks.

this league is challenging.
Speaking for the long-term players, thanks. That was our goal 20 years ago.

We started as Yahoo league. After a couple of seasons we decided there were things about that format we wanted to change (the Thursday deadline, the 'bench drivers', the groups not changing, too few drivers / groups, scoring system not based on driver points). We found a software package in those pre-web app days. We've had to jump programs or sites a couple of times with little notice, similar to what happened here when Yahoo pulled the plug last year. Somehow we keep chuggin' along.

We used to charge $5 or $10 for the year to cover the software costs. If you were the champ, you didn't have to pay for the next year.

this league is challenging.

To be fair, I've been pretty damn lucky with my guys not DNFing (though that is a stat I look at). I'm still doing pretty well in the other league but I'm not running away with the lead there.

This league has been won before by players who've missed races. One year a guy missed TWO and came within a couple of dozen points when one of his drivers wrecked at Homestead.

Well, that's good to hear haha. Gives me hope as I was doing good before I missed this one.

Loose Nutz came in second last year after missing a race. I beat him by less than 40 points. That's not much; most weekend winners score around 160, and 220 or so is the max.

Remember, if you know in advance you're going to miss, you can e-mail instructions to me - highest qualifiers, fastest 10-lap averages, same team I'm entering, etc.

@Blaze, it looks like you've already entered a team for Atlanta. If so, you entered it before I updated the driver groups after Phoenix. It's possible the drivers you picked have changed groups since you picked them. If your team now has two drivers from the same group, you'll only get credit for one of them.

Please wait until you receive my e-mail each week saying the driver groups have been updated before you enter your team. I just finished updating the groups. I can't see your team before race day, so I can't tell if you still have just one driver from each group. Please check now, and make any changes you need to.

Thanks!

Wow, second place is looking very competitive now

For the record, my dad did his lineup six minutes before lock, lol.

I hate I had forgot about this when it first started back up. I’m not sure I got a chance now but I’ll keep trying.

I missed maybe one or two races..

We're pretty lenient about the deadline. As long as the green hasn't dropped, I'll accept a team by e-mail, text, PM here, etc. Once the green waves, THAT'S the real lock.

28 races to go. Let's see who's second then.

I realize some of us are old school but e-mail has long been the communications method for the league. We started as a work place league, and many of our players are active on social media.

But it is 2020, so I'll start posting the weekly updates here too! In fact,

Race 08 - Charlotte 2
- Greased Lightning picked Reed Sorenson in Position E. It turns out Sorenson was replaced in the #77 by JJ Yeley. I've e-mailed FanStar support and asked that G.L. be credited with Yeley's finish and points.
- DJ Hooker was the only one with Position B top finisher Denny Hamlin.
- Nobody picked up on Austin Dillon or Ricky Stenhouse, Positions C and D front runners.

Race 09 - Bristol 1
- DRIVER POSITIONS ARE READY FOR BRISTOL, BABY!!!
- 40 cars are entered.

Yeah I never really check my email anymore unless it’s to confirm something haha. I’ll keep playing and hope to pull something off but I don’t see it happening.

Race 09 - Bristol 1
- Cooter's Speed Shop was the only team with race winner Brad Keselowski on the roster. This led to Cooter's first win of the season.
- Only Palmetto picked up on Position B leader Clint Bowyer.
- Pudge's Pilots included Christopher Bell this week, top runner in Position D.
- And Pudge and BumpandRun shared ownership of Ryan Preece, Position E's best finisher.

Race 11 - Martinsville 1
- Wednesday, June 10th, 7:00 pm, FS1
- Driver positions for Martinsville are ready.
- 40 cars are entered.

Looks like it's whittled down to a nine person race...

- DJ Hooker was the only one wise to Position D leader John Hunter Nemechek.

Races 14 & 15 - Pocono 1 and 2
- Driver positions are ready for the Pocono double-header.
- Because the two races are on consecutive days, I will not upgrade the driver groups after the first race. As soon as FanStar has updated the scores and unlocked the site, you may enter your drivers for the second race. I'll send an e-mail as soon as I notice we're able to enter Sunday's drivers.
- If you are concerned about entering a team on Sunday, you can send me an e-mail asking me to enter your team for you. You can ask to have the same drivers as Saturday, best starter in each group, highest finishers in Saturday's race, or anything else that isn't too complicated for me to easily understand.

- Pay Drivers Only picked up his first podium finish.

- TEAMS ARE UNLOCKED AFTER RACE 1. You may enter your teams for race #2.
- Because the two races are on consecutive days, I will not upgrade the driver groups after the first race.
- If you are concerned about entering a team on Sunday, you can send me an e-mail asking me to enter your team for you.
